Friday DE: Enable

It's Friday! \o/

Spinning out if yesterday's topic, let's enable each other. Are there plots you've been thinking of? Adventure OOMs you're contemplating that might be fun for other pups? Pups you have in your back pocket? Pups you think really need to come to Milliways? Well, now is your chance to speak. The floor is yours.

I have contemplated Ibani finding her way into Sabine's timeline at some point!

Which could be interesting considering that two of the Ghost's crew are force-sensitive. >.>

At Sabine's current point, and I'm likely to stay there for a bit, it's only one as Ezra isn't part of the crew yet. I also plan on Sabine doing some solo missions, which may or may not be sanctioned by Kanan or Hera. Which is a long way of saying, we should do this!

I'd also like Sabine to get some time in Ibani's time as well. More practice kicking ass is never a waste.

Ah, my mistake!

And yes we should! Sabine could even pick up a few things in Ibani's time which might be worth a lot more in her own. Creative funding of the Resistance for the win?

Or ech she could reverse engineer into her armor!

[personal profile] last_kallig 2016-07-29 03:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, yes, that would work! Cortosis alloy would help with those annoying lightsabers if she hasn't got mandalorian iron.

[personal profile] explosive_artist 2016-07-29 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Where did the 't' in my tech go?

I am assuming does have mandalorian iron, at least for the plates. But I wonder about some sort of flexible armor for the layer under the plates, as well as other things like wrist computers or targeting optics for her helmet or what not.

*nods* Ibani's timeline could reasonably supply those, I think.

Definitely! Ibani is not likely too turn down ANY operation that lets her take out slavers. :-D

William's always up for visitors though he doesn't think his home is that interesting and Quentin too.

Voltron is awesome and so many fascinating characters.

I love Pidge and how that reveal was handled. I also love Princess Allura.

A visit to the wild West could be fun for her. Though she will feel strongly out of her element. I think once she gets Bruce back to safety (she's at the point where she and he are on the run in season one), she'll want a break from Gotham. Could be a good time for a vacation.

Cassidy. Love of my life.

But do I really need to play another vampire.
i_am_your_host: (smirk)

A completely reasonable answer XD

Cassidy likes fighting and killing and especially fighting, so he and Eric might get along!

In the back of my head, I have this idea to send Kirk on one last adventure before his canon death. But I really don't want to kill him. (Have discussed this with Batya as well and had an idea for a series of OOMs with Kirk and some old friends from Trek.)

I would love to see more post-reboot (now post-Rebirth) DC comics characters in the Bar. Or more DCTV characters. And I know the odds of this are low, but Poirot would benefit from a Ariadne Oliver in here. (Fans of the books will remember she is the author self insertion of Agatha Christie. But the wonderful Zoe Wanamaker played her on the TV series, and the chemistry between her and David Suchet is amazing.)

[personal profile] ceitfianna 2016-07-29 11:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Ariadne has always been one of my favorites of Christie's creations. I always find myself rereading the books with her in them more than the others. I don't know if I could pull her off but I love her.
sdelmonte: (Default)

[personal profile] sdelmonte 2016-07-29 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never read any of the books with her, so far. But on TV, she brings something different after years of Poirot and Hastings. I like Hastings but he's such a dullard intellectually speaking and Ariadne is anything but.
ceitfianna: (running towards a happy ending)

[personal profile] ceitfianna 2016-07-29 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree, I love how sure she is in what she knows and how honest she is about her writing process.

For the books, she's only in I think four of them. I recommend starting with Cards on the Table then Dead Man's Folly. She's in others but those are the two best that I'm always rereading. Halloween Party is another strong one, I mean they're Christie, so they're all great. Oh and in my opinion the Cards on the Table movie with Suchet truly doesn't do justice to the story, they added in some uncomfortable plot choices.

[personal profile] sdelmonte 2016-07-29 11:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that one is really a bit iffy. Though it does at least give me room to argue that given his era, Poirot is not as raging a homophobe as many.

The adaptations of Dead Man's Folly and Mrs McGinty's Dead are stronger.

But yes, I need to read more of the books. Or listen to more of the audiobooks that Hugh Fraser or David Suchet recorded. (Fraser does a surprisingly good Poirot.)

[personal profile] chanter1944 2016-07-30 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
I now have the urge to have Sariel and Kirk interact again, if you're game. I'd offer a hand with TOS NPCs, but I'm admittedly not as up on that branch of canon as I am on three of the other four series.

I did *not* realize you were the person playing Poirot until you said something in the back room! Niiiiice. :) I'm now imagining Starfleet ensign and investigator meeting... which could either be bemusing in the extreme, full of delightful subtlety, or a real mess, depending. That doesn't even get into the dialect differences between the two of them, which could add a whole layer of interaction on their own...

*coughs* Uh, in other words, hi. Forgive me the moment of ramble/squee there; I got my hands on an audio version of The Murder of Roger Ackroyd as a kid, and whoever the narrator was, he did an excellent Poirot. I've been biased ever since.

I'm weirdly convinced nobody wants to deal with me for threading, so if anyone does, feel free to ask here or at tlfandom@gmail.com. I've got this guy, mostly, but I can also easily thread Sebastian (Twelfth Night) or Darcy (Thor movies) if I know people want them around. The rest I'm working on plots for, slowly but surely.

I'm genuinely kind of hard to deal with, though, so fair warning for accidental flakiness (I can be poked)

I'm always up for stuff with you as I love threading with you. I think Darcy and Quentin or Darcy and Ivan could be fascinating. At this point, I don't have specific ideas as I've been at a job interview all day but I'll keep thinking.

Quentin and Darcy could be very amusing! They're both badasses in training, though Darcy is on a teach-yourself program :P

<3 I bet you rocked your interview

You know what? I feel a bit odd saying this straight to you, but...

I miss your Filif. Demisiv <3!

I am also up for threading whenever I'm around, though I don't know any of your current roster well enough to guess who'd get along best with Sariel.
tlvop: Drawing of a girl grinning (:))

[personal profile] tlvop 2016-07-30 08:00 am (UTC)(link)
Aw, thank you! I actually miss him too -- I need to pick up the new YW books :). I don't know as much about Sariel as I'd like, but my gut suspicion is that she and Sebastian would get along very well. He's very sincere & easily awed, haha! SHIPS IN SPACE?

If we could pull off a few threads, I think Darcy would warm up to Sariel. Chuck is harder to predict, but can be surprisingly sweet if he doesn't get self conscious. Darcy and Chuck are pretty prickly -- Darcy is mostly interested in big concepts, and Chuck in practical applications. Darcy is from a superhero world, Chuck an optimistic sci fi disaster world, and Sebastian is the only person with no real grasp of witty wordplay from a Shakespeare comedy.

Of mine, I'm working towards getting Ivan through Brothers in Arms and want to do more with Charles and setting up the school and dealing more with history. I've just been stuck with him as others have been louder.

Also in preparation for AU week, I've been researching rodeo and I'd love to have some visitors to William's west for various adventures. I think there are some good possibilities for danger and fun especially for those looking for a different experience.

I've also been thinking about getting Moist in a mess in terms of a job and that's something which would be fun for others to get mixed up in. Either as accomplices or coming with him and then finding more than they expected.

[personal profile] chanter1944 2016-07-30 03:29 am (UTC)(link)
Will and Sariel need to get up to some hijinks again, Y/Y?

Seriously, I miss those two interacting.

Yes, he's not my loudest voice but he's about. I'd enjoy more of Sariel and Quentin or William. Actually she and Ivan could be enjoyable as he's from a more sci-fi world.

I think she could and he would have fun teaching her. I don't think he'd ever say it aloud but he does take pride in what he does.

Once I get Wilford properly established, I think it'll be fun to have people come to his world. It's just similar enough to the real world that when it gets weird, it gets really weird. Lots of potential for plot shenanigans with him, I think.
