Ok, so.

I've been thinking of how to handle Christmas at Milliways.

Here's an idea.

I think that Bernard will start a thread on December 24. Anyone and everyone who chooses to celebrate Christmas in Milliways this year can post to that thread detailing what gifts they put under the tree or in the stockings on the hearth, so as to make it all readily available for the recipients.

Does that sound good?

Sounds good - I know we were planning on slow timing a House of Arch thread for Xmas morning with Tom and Door ahead of time; we can link to the thread no problem.

Peter would like to give something quite large to the bar in general, since he knows only a few people and he's not the sort to give gifts to passing acquaintances, but he has more money than he really knows what to do with.

Any ideas? Do we need anything?

Also possibly a housing & sustenance fund for the recently Bound to cover, say, a week of food and shelter.

Actually, I'm in the planning stages of a brochure Snow is writing up for the newcomers . . . So in other words, the "Welcome to Milliways" one is covered. Because the crack took control over my brain over five months ago.

But you see, here's the thing, mon ami...

This has been suggested by a moderator. Which means that they could in fact create an account for Santa Claus, say, who will come in and only ever post this. And then they will create, say, a gmail account, which will eat all the emails with no problem.

No worries. There already is a Santa, or was, somewhere. Although he's not been around in a bit. Troubles at home, probably, or it's just the busy season.

It doesn't have to be Santa Claus, does it? It could just be the Milliways Christmas Tree. And we post the thread to its own journal, so it doesn't scroll off over the holidays, so everybody gets to have their presents eventually.

I had my character give his presents to a rat to give to their receivers. Cause otherwise I won't get them turned in on time, due to being stuck at home with no internet over the holidays. Then I posted a back room post. I hope that's okay.

I was about to post in the back room with the anonymous thread for secret santa gifts, which was the original plan - should I go ahead with that, or should I just tell participants to post in your thread?

I don't think the secret santa has anything to do with that. That's more organized. This was just for people who want to give gifts on Christmas to their friends.

So I'd say keep the sekrit santa thing separate. :D
