It's Sunday again, Milliways, and you know what that means...

... It means this is going to be quick'n'dirty because Sundays are cray-cray for me lately.

I am not at PAX, but they livestream all the panels anyway, so it doesn't matter. I've been attending panels while working this weekend.

My personal highlights so far have been the tetherless VR talk, and one of the YouTubers I watch proposing to his girlfriend on stage.

The VR stuff has so much potential right now, and I've been so fascinated with how much it's jumped forward over the last few years. I remember the Virtual Boy, and even back then thinking that it was a cool idea that was just completely implausbile, and now there are multiplayer VR arenas. My time in a Vive has been about three minutes total, but I'm still really excited about all of this. Especially since just a couple of years ago, we all thought VR like this was going to have to involve a giant hamster ball or a weird treadmill thing. Now it's just a pair of funny goggles and a backpack, and you're able to move freely within a defined open space. It's all moving so fast, and the people behind the Occulus are probably kicking themselves so hard.

I work at a public library and we've just bought a a Vive. We'll be doing a programme with the local high school's astronomy class for starters.

It'll be awesome.

Supposedly, we're getting a Void arena up here soon. I can't afford a Vive, but I'd be so willing to blow a few bucks on a half hour in the Void.

I did the VR Ghostbusters experience at the NYC Madame Tussaud's last weekend. I'd never done VR before, it was pretty awesome to pretend you're blasting ghosts in a decrepit, haunted hotel.

I came home Thursday night to a notice of anothe rent increase, the third this year. This has spawned a flurry of looking into new places and purging stuff in storage to hopefully cut down costs. Not fun.

On the plus side, we have 60 days before the new rent and we could afford one month of it, so we are not in a complete panic. It's still more than I wish I had to deal with right now.

Look into a tenant's union, if there are any in your area. If nothing else, they'll help you find landlords that aren't complete scumbags.

Iiiii have gotten sidelined by a case of flu-vaccine-reaction, featuring (teaming up with?) a nasty sore throat. Wehhh.
