Oh NOES!

Hello all. I was asked to make a post giving everyone a heads up as to when the "OH NOES! Demon! And killer trees!" Ron plot would be taking place, and here it is:

ETA (Very Important): Originally, I was thinking Sunday December 26, starting around 6 or 7 pm EST, so that any people who have to work the next day won't be consumed by the crack all night. BUT Tom-mun can't make it then, and she's been in on this plot since around the beginning, so is it alright with everyone for it to be Wednesday the 29th, same time? If there are too many problems, we'll keep it the same time...

Anyone have any objections? Time conflicts? Plots that you want to run at the same time that might conflict?

Also, if you want to be involved in the plottage, there are many places for random people to be, as the mods gave ermission for this to be a bar-wide event. So far Anakin, Tom Riddle, and Peter Pettigrew are involved in the rescue, as is Hermione Granger, the Weasley twins, and Ginny Weasley. More Weasleys may be needed to give Ron a life-saving blood transfusion, so Bill and Charlie-muns, wanna join in?

There are going to be crazy killer trees growing out of the floor and lashing away at people, so people able to cut down the trees on Miracle-Grow-from-hell would also be helpful (psst, Ash, yes I am looking at you. And your chainsaw). There will also be Lethifolds, cloaklike creatures that engulf people and suffocate them. Any wizards or other people with Patronuses, or patronus-like light powers are encouraged to join in. Also, just normal brave people will be needed to help the injured away from the center of the bar and protect the littler ones. And healers! Healers will be needed!

Also, are the Oompa Loompas available to patch up the floor afterwards?

Last but not least, if you don't want to participate, just abuse milli-time and have it assumed that your character isn't there when the even happens. Or have a quiet drink at the bar or off to the sides, where there aren't any crazy trees.

And remember, kids! Don't hurt the bar proper (And Bernard--poor guy just got out of a coma). With great millicrack comes great responsibility!

So who wants in, and what do they want to do, and does anyone have any complaints, suggestions, etc., as I don't want the plot to interfere with anyone else's?

Want an angel? If I'll still be on - what timezone you talking?

[identity profile] watch-wait.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Never open out the wings, d00d. :D

And *sigh*. 6 or 7 EST is... what, 3am for me? Probly won't be around. But if I am, I can chop down trees. :D

HAHAHAHAHA. Damn straight.

Anyway. Need any boom-boom?

WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MY BABY GETS TO BLOW SHIT UP!

[identity profile] bloody-tired.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you for moving it to next week. Less crazy for me!

As to the rescue bit, we're going to need to get all those involved in one place to talk prior to the rescue, due to potential IC character conflicts. Namely that most of the Weasleys seem to be out to get Tom and/or Peter. Trying to effect a rescue in which all the rescuers are fighting like cats and dogs is not going to work.

-Anakin-mun, too lazy to log into the right journal.

Hmm . . . Snow, cannonically, has prophetic dreams. I was thinking of giving her one, but it required mun knowledge of a *huge* in-bar event, preferably of the disaster variety. Can we work something with this?

Hey you know you got me even if i'm late

Any more info on the magic stuff -- the trees, the Lethifolds, etc. -- for great justice!!! dealing with crossover issues? (Other magic, I mean.)

Thanks! :)

...Hmm. Is it physical light only that we're talking, or would powers of the metaphysical Light work?

(I am thinking in particular of a scar on Will's wrist, which is a symbol of the Light and is canonically used as a ward against the power of the Dark, but also in general of his powers.)

Eeeeexcellent. Thanks!

[identity profile] sign-seeker.livejournal.com 2004-12-15 10:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm. I can't promise to be there, because I'll have family visiting for the holidays and all, and that means competition for computer time.

But if I can be, Will's powers are not terribly combat-offensive, but he can do shields and certainly has patronus-like light powers.

*Offered in service of verisimilitude in millireality:*

If you're going to use explosives on trees, lots of shielding would be good, unless you want serious projectile injuries in the vicinity. Flying splinters would be IC for some woods (not sure re baobab). Chunks of wood acting like erratic cannonballs would be very plausible. Maybe the HP rescuers can use the Protego spell? Impedimenta could help some, but mass is mass, even if you slow it down, so I think Protego might be better. And if anyone is going to use a chainsaw, please have them know how. Else IC would be severed parts and/or whole crushed people.

Thank you for your indulgence!

As I understand it, Protego only stops magic, not physical objects. Another spell may be needed.

Sadly, I won't be able to be online when it happens *sighs* Sunday nights are complicated for me, I'm never online on those nights. Or Saturday nights for that matter. Plus, 6 or 7 EST is sort of late for me and I work the next day. I really was looking forward to playing in that but I understand that my time zone sucks :( Sowwy!

P.S.: I also don't have AIM. Only Y!M and MSN. Though I rarely use the later. I'm lady_yare on the former and ladyyare(at)hotmail(dot)com on the later.

Oh no! There's no need to change stuff to fit me, really! *blushes* I couldn't even tell you for sure that I'll be online that whole day, it being Christmas weekend and all. My family will most likely be all over the place. For the time to fit me (on weekends anyway), it would have to happen so early that some people might be asleep still. I also plan to get Bill out of the bar soon (make him non-Bound that is). Soon as in this weekend most likely.

I'll definitely catch the aftermath though (I hope) :D

Sounds fun! Hopefully I'll have the time to drag Windows 95 and her katana in. (Because, as we all know, animu katana are capable of cutting thick wood, metal, and also cement effortlessly!)

Eight-foot tall burning pillars of blindingly white flames needed?

*holds up sign saying Will burn killer trees/lethifolds for food and perhaps songbirds.*

*munches* You need Yrael to do the Nuclear Fission Kitty thing, or just general Charter-burnination?

[identity profile] pjpettigrew.livejournal.com 2004-12-16 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
Just remember, don't LOOK at the Nuclear Fission Kitty when he goes nuclear. The last time someone tried that, we had a blind barman for five weeks. And he only got his sight back because Yrael came up with the medicine, bless him.

Hi!

Yay... for demons. Hotaru wants in. I can IM you (don't know your AIM ;;) or you can IM me - ShivasConsort.

^___^ (also: yay)

I should be here, I think. Val's always up for some action. Granted, she more than likely will just stand around comforting people, but that's what she's around for, neh?

[identity profile] rajrr.livejournal.com 2004-12-16 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
If I'm not holiday-ing that day, Krum and/or Eros will be there with magic and/or phenomenally useless sexgod powers.

You have my AIM already. ^_^

I'm sure Dionysus or Rand would be glad to help out. Only thing is that I'm not sure what the internet availibility is going to be at home...but if I'm around, I'm there.

This looks interesting. The guy who killed off Cho's boyfriend is going to be performing a transfusion on Ron Weasley, a.k.a. "The Tornados Hater". >D

(Cho could be doing anything from angsting over why a Death Eater would be helping out a student [as per Pettigrew-mun's suggestion] to having a freak-out fest with Hermione to god knows what else. *shrugs* Whatever works for you, really.)

Alas!

After the 28th I am free and clear.

[identity profile] hooper-x.livejournal.com 2004-12-16 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. I'll have to hold some of my characters back.

Although I *do* have a certain flame-gouting dragon-type who might be suitably irate if trees come up and disturb him while he's working.

Not that he's by any means part of a "rescue party", he'd simply be disposing of irritants.

One healer-type up for helping... and the "discreet" runemagic fire ball at a tree or two.

I offer Zeke. The wood won't do a thing to him (though he'll have to cover his eyes, obviously) so he can run in if need be.

Don't know if Moiraine's available that day, due to me visiting family for holiday matters, but if I'm able to be online -- the Aes Sedai would help. She can provide light, healing, and definite anti-Shadow type binding and destruction.
