Inspired by my very generous box of random vegetables today: Your charrie is given a basket of random fruit or vegetables by a friend (or to make them go away, if they have no friends). What do they do with it?

Ah yes, over here we've moved from "pile zucchini on your neighbors' porch at midnight" season to "HEY EVERYONE AT WORK WANTS A DOZEN APPLES RIGHT" season.

Most of my characters would be at a loss if someone handed them a box of random fruits and veggies, and would probably just give them to the Bar. If they looked like things he could pass off as coming from Scotland, William might give them to his mom or to Jamie's nanny Meg to cook with. YOU ARE WOMEN YOU KNOW ABOUT VEGETABLES.

Ursula isn't into things like canning or complicated cooking, but she'd keep as much as she could eat before it went bad, store anything like onions or potatoes that will keep, and take the rest to one of her farm neighbors to maybe trade for something she can store for winter--smoked sausages, preserves.

....Bossuet would select out any vegetables that looked like Anatomy and arrange them around his and Joly's room.

Rollo would try and ferment them to turn them into alcohol. Or at least try.

Sabine would give them to the refugees in Tarkin town.

YT would take the veggies home to Mom and they'd make salads/casserole/whatever out of it.

Seimei would give the vegetables to his cook. He might specify that certain ones should be pickled. Either way they would be enjoyed and not go to waste!

Eat them, probably. It would save him having to leave him room for a while. And he likes fruit and vegetables!

Exploding them is also an option if he's really bored.

Emcee would take as much as he can eat for himself and give the rest away to friends and neighbors. Or, he would make a ginormous stew with the entire batch of vegetables, and then give that away to friends and neighbors. I have never had a reason for Emcee to cook in Milliways, but it's my headcanon that he can indeed cook a vegetable stew.
