Killing Jim also seems obvious, because much as he love-hates Jim he can easily acknowledge that Jim needs some killing...BUT would Jim just show up in Milliways again? With a vengeance? So would Hotspur, of course, but he's more likely to understand the situation. And less likely to torture William to death or destroy everything he loves. Also killing Hotspur would be hella glorious, like, damn, if you can't marry or fuck your childhood quasi-hero then killing him has got to be pretty awesome.

So mostly he wants to know if he has a choice between Young Jim and Old Jim, but really, whatever. He'll piss and moan about it but I think we all know he wonders what fucking Jim would be like.
