Well, to signal the start of his flirtation game with Sherlock, Jim blew up the house opposite the Baker Street flat.
Then he blew up an old woman in a bomb vest, and took half the block of flats she lived in - and eleven other people - with her. Those are his only canon bombs, because the rest didn't go off due to Sherlock solving puzzles in time. The rest of his property damage is petty; graffiti, and carving Sherlock's name into walls. Oh, well, he did also smash open the glass around the Crown Jewels.
Depending on your definition of 'terrible mess', see: his entire role in canon.
And in Milliways he blew up a couple of stable stalls, and may have carved a coded message or two around the place. Nothing major.
Well, there was that time Wilford had an affair with a married woman. And then got caught. So he shot the husband. And the lady. And their neighbour. And their dog. And then burned the house to the ground.
In canon, Emcee pretty much leads everyone to their eventual deaths (his own as well) by being silent and complicit and delusional about how life is so beautiful. I'd say that was a huge screw-up. So I'm rewriting it.
Well, there's the end of season 01 and beginning of season 02, when Rollo turned his back on Ragnar and the people of Kattegat which resulted in a battle. Rollo killed a close friend in a pretty spectacular fashion, nearly killed Floki, and then surrendered when he found he couldn't raise a hand against his brother. He worked hard for redemption and got it, earning his way back in everyone's graces. Then along came Paris and Normandy. Is it too soon to mention that?
There's a reason for the "Damnit Rollo" drinking game.
William Douglas leads his first border raid into England! He fails to mobilize any cows but he steals a beautiful black horse for his dad! And then he realizes that he'd missed the border and was in Galloway the whole time. He's supposed to marry the lady of Galloway.
Ellen cannot be blamed for the rioting and mess that happened in Vault 101; that was her father's fault. She can be blamed for:
- the killing of an alien warship's entire command crew and the total destruction of another warship of equal size and crew complement - the suicide of the putative President of the United States - the explosive destruction of a continuity-of-government facility that had been operating for close to two hundred years if not more (admittedly this is because she talked the putative President into ending his own existence and he did it explosively) - the death of a two-hundred-plus-year-old mad scientist, who would not normally be counted as anything unusual except that he had established himself as a god to a tribe of brain-damaged drug addicts, and anything that removes even a fake god from circulation probably counts - the orbital bombardment and near-total annihilation of the remains of Adams Air Force Base, which was populated by the people who had escaped that continuity-of-government facility some time before - the orbital death ray-based destruction of twelve acres of Pittsburgh pretty much solely to make a point - the destruction of a Virginia settlement that had been operating continuously for two hundred years and the forced resettlement of the three survivors - the destruction of the virtual environment of Vault 112 and the deaths of all its inhabitants except its Overseer, who is now being kept alive in total isolation except for non-sentient computer simulations of people
Etc. There is a reason the Bar offers her Temujin as an option every Cubefall.
In 01, Yamato's biggest screw-up is probably him fracturing the group in three, with his brother, Taichi, Sora, Koushiro, and Hikari in one group, Jyou and Mimi in another, and Yamato off on his own. While there are some positive things that result from that, in that it helps Taichi grow as a person and Mimi ends up building an army, it also leads to two Dark Ocean related incidents and the death of one of their allies. He's been reborn by the time of Tri, but honestly if they'd had him around things would've gone a lot smoother.
In Tri, he and Taichi manage to wreck Odaiba's commercial district during the battle with Alphamon, although in fairness a large part of that damage is the result of Alphamon shooting lasers everywhere.
Tess has blown up a plane and a car (with someone in it). Hacked up a couple of zombies. Kicked someone's head in - she had to get her office dry cleaned after that. Let Lex live. Lead Zod on. Let Doomsday loose. Etc.
Kylo, I'd say we should wait and see if joining the Dark Side really screwed things up, but I have a strong feeling the answer is yes.
Abe no Seimei destroyed part of the Imperial Palace in his magical duel with Ashiya Doman (mostly in my headcanon).
YT has probably done her fair share of property damage, being a skate punk and all. She did cause a very notable mess in canon, but I don't want to say what it was because it would be a spoiler.

He possibly over-reacted just a little bit.

Marcus Wright has destroyed a few terminators, many cars, almost killed John Connor (by accident), killed his own brother and two cops.
