Sub Tuesday DE

If I set the time on this post to earlier, does that still catch the folks closer to GMT?

Pulling from the suggestion box, from [personal profile] moonandstar :

If your character had a coat of arms, what would be on it? (Or if they do have one, what it is it?)

You can have a look at some of the rules of heraldry if you'd like some guidelines. Or just ignore them and make shit up.

I am still enamored by the cutie mark I came up for Amascut a while back: a silver sickle laying across a golden sheaf of wheat. To make it heraldric, simply put it on a sanguine field. She does have a canonical symbol, but it is just an upside-down ankh. Perhaps her coat of arms should be, then, tierced per pall reversed with an argent sickle against a gules field in the dexter partition, an or sheaf against an argent field in the sinister partition, and an upside-down argent ankh against a sable field in the base partition.

I'll get to Fairy Fixit later.

Maybe I am just avoiding homework... but

here's that second version of Amascut's coat of arm's I came up with up above, with a minor tweak. The inverted ankh is gold instead of silver just because it looks better. Also, the sinister side with the golden ear of wheat on a silver field violates the rules of tincture because that's what she does, plus, goddess, rules don't apply, blah blah.
A shield, tierced per pall reversed with a silver sickle against a red field in the dexter partition, a gold ear of wheat against a silver field in the sinister partition, and an upside-down gold ankh against a black field in the base partition.
And here's Fairy Fixit's. The three concentric silver rings with rays coming out represent a fairy ring network hub. Why it is on a black field I don't know, but this seems more like an occupational coat of arms than a family or military coat of arms.
A black shield decorated with thee concentric silver rings, the outer which has 8 rays emanating out from it.

You could get around the rules of tincture for Amascut by calling it an ear of wheat proper.

Emcee's would have four quarters in alternating black and white, with silhouettes of these items in each quadrant: a martini glass, a bow tie, a kiss print (in red), and a 1930s microphone.

Floki's would have a forest green background with a stylized Viking ship on it in white with an eye on its sail. The eye's design would resemble how Floki paints his own eyes. Surrounding the ship would be smaller images of the tools of his trade.

Pam's would have a pink background with a red stiletto shoe on it. She's a pretty simple girl.

Garyn: Sable, a crescent moon and six-pointed estoile Or. (Heraldic jargon for "gold moon and star on a black field," or "the thing in the dang icon"). Being the reincarnation of Nerevar Indoril, he would presumably be entitled to use his sigil and coat of arms.

Cassie: Whooo, lordy, would it get to Cassie's head if she were given a coat of arms. There would be much posing in front of a mirror and demanding that everyone call her "Lady Cassandra" or some such thing. Still, I think if pressed she'd say that the Special Forces patch and unit flash are all the heraldry she needs. (She wouldn't turn down crossed pistols and sunglasses proper on a sky blue field, though).

oh god William's coat of arms is kind of... Captain America but with hearts?

I gotta have him show up in that some time.

excuse you william sees nothing adorable about this

it certainly doesn't look like it was designed by a (somewhat restrained) nine-year-old

it is a serious killing-people-in-bloody-warfare crest

with stars and hearts
