plotlet!

Get your wallets, Agents from the Landlord have come to call in your bills! Well...that's what they're saying, anyway.

A pair of plucky conmen from Spain will be arriving shortly, with a scheme to shake down Milliways for a quick buck. With mod approval, they will succeed in beguiling Bar so that she won't rat them out immediately, but don't worry, they'll get caught within a few days.

Are bills actually due? Heavens, no. If it's fun for your character to assume these guys are scammers, feel free. If it's fun for your character to scramble around trying to pay up, yay! That might be even more fun! If it's fun for your character to try to talk them out of it, these guys aren't exactly hardened monsters. They'll cut you a deal. Give it a try! But as said, Bar isn't going to give away the game, so if your character asks about them she's either not going to answer or will produce something non-committal.

This is all for fun and games. If the whole thing is something you want to avoid, feel free to ignore it, and they're not going to be chasing people into other threads. They'll be caught by security in a couple of days, and ALL MONEY WILL BE RETURNED!

1. Points for remembering The Road to El Dorado, a forgotten gem from when Dreamworks was still making animation with pen and ink and still doing musicals.

2. Poirot should meet one or the other of these guys and apply his skills to getting at the truth.

Ha, well, the truth is I hadn't seen it until a couple months ago! But my friends got me sorted out. And Poirot totally should!

Ooh, can I set my own conman on them or start working with them?

[personal profile] nolittlevoice 2017-01-13 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
um um ummmm, I don't they'll be wanting to cut a stranger in on the deal, but absolutely go ahead and send him by to check things out!

That makes perfect sense, Moist tends to work alone, but their interactions will be fascinating.

>_> moist doesn't have any counterfeit money or useless fake land deeds he wants to get rid of, does he?

Not on him but he can find or make them quickly. He hasn't figured out yet what Tullio and Miguel want that he has. That's why he's playing it as a nobody.

Heh, that's okay, it just struck me as a funny option, Moist using them to get rid of his own incriminating evidence or something along those lines. Surely he's always got something handy on him?

*snerks* He does and he might find that he actually has something on him. I love it as an option and I'm going with it. He doesn't want them to be suspicious of him.

*dies* i mean they miiiiight be a little suspicious of the gold mine because i suspect they've sold a few gold mine deeds themselves in their day, but then again miguel is remarkably silly

Tulio-mun is going to be slow for a bit, but I'll throw it over to her.

Oh yes, he's trying to not get their con senses tingling. He'd offer them a treacle mine or a fat mine but neither of those make sense outside of his world. If he needs to distract them, he might start explaining them.

oh, fat mines

um I mean--do you want to retcon? or just roll with it?

No, adding it into the next tag.

Oh No, Miguel Is Confused.

(Tulio-mun is out for a bit, so we might need to pause...)

I'm always good for a pause as this is so much fun. These two are some of my favorites and I love having more conmen to play Moist off of.

Hi guys! So, Poirot has just tipped my Security member off as to the possible Landlord con. She's heavily sceptical and is going to start making enquiries, but I don't want to step on anyone's toes/spoil anyone's plots, so could I get a heads-up with what you guys are planning, please?

Hi, hi! Okay, yes, there's a thread in the works with Thor stepping in that's almost done--I'm sorry, it got stalled for a couple of days because people have had busy weekends. Once that's all through, we're going to do an EP for the guys washing dishes...
