I guess this is as good a spot as any to apologize for disappearing after dropping Emcee/Eli in. It's taking longer than I expected to get my brain back into regular RP mode. Maybe if I step into some back room stuff it might spark something again.
Still reading and keeping up with "current events" here, though :)
I'm in a hotel room in Dubai, halfway to the convention center. Feeling like I'm a long way from anywhere but it's lovely that the bar is only a Wi-Fi password away.
I'm getting ready to go and change the registration for my car and feeling oddly down. I think when I get back, I'll write an OOM or maybe an EP as I'm having some of those new pup worries. Also maybe sign up for a place to volunteer, I love where I'm living but need to be braver and get myself out more.
Also wow, Star Wars Rebels is absolutely amazing and I'm both excited and a little terrified of showing Cassian's small part in it moving towards Rogue one.
I am, getting my new state license plates and being out on a lovely day helped. Also I stared greedily at the SW's stuff in a Target which was fun but I think I have the Cassian toy with the best expression, not full on neutral spy face but one with a hint of more beneath.
I had a writing revelation thanks to the Writing Excuses podcast. As a tool, chapters are for controlling the pace of a story. Yes, they can be used for other things, but at their core, they control pacing. This explains why books with very short chapters usually annoy me; my not being a fan of continuous rapid changes. Before this, I had mostly thought the purpose of chapters was to switch scenes or point view.
I'm still working through Iron Fist and enjoying it despite it's many flaws and problematic tropes. I really wish they'd cast someone better than Finn Jones. He's okay, but the other actors in the show really leave him behind as far as emoting and his fighting choreography is bland. YMMV, of course.
Starting Laini Taylor's new book, Strange the Dreamer, and OMG it is amazing. I love how seemingly effortlessly she weaves a rich tapestry of myth and world building, with characters you can quickly understand and relate to.
Ugh, why Monday? This morning my brain cells were scattered around like floating dust motes and I was trying to pick them out of the air and reassemble them.
Vulturing efforts have provided me with things to snack on, though, (thank you visiting clients for not eating all of the breakfasty items laid out for you), and I just had a big ass baked potato delivered so I'm doing better than when this Monday began.
I also bought myself a Captain America hat (a Cap cap, if you will). Turns out waffling on purchases sometimes pays off, because I've had it in my cart for a week now and they sent me a 10% off coupon code to get me to finally buy the damn thing. XD
Last night I stayed up too late gathering dialogue, but I have no regrets now because it means I have what I need to finish typing up a thing. If only I could sneak in a nap somewhere. I bet if I curled up underneath my boss's desk who's out of town this week no one would find me. >.>

I really hope they come out with a S3 Sabine so I can have one for each hairstyle.
