Hi all!
The fair will be live shortly, I'm just finishing setting up.
OOC challenges for runners and tug of war:
Sign-ups for the running/superhuman running and tug of war are now CLOSED.
Late entries will be accepted for the running races but you will not get any extra time.
Late entries will not be accepted for tug of war unless you PM me before 9pm on Monday.
Okay, ready? Details of your OOC challenge below the cut tag.
Each of the events involves a time challenge to be completed by yourself. For this you will need:
- A stopwatch or stopwatch app
- Ideally, a computer or laptop with a keyboard
Whatever device you use, you must turn off autocorrect before you start the challenge (or use Notepad).
Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to copy out the text in bold below as fast and accurately as you can, including the punctuation, then send me your text and your time by PM. You may not copy and paste.
I will add three seconds for any mistakes. You can only correct yourself before you stop the clock.
If you are dyslexic, visually impaired etc you may either nominate someone to do the challenge in your place, or let me know and I will adjust your score appropriately (e.g. not giving penalties for mistakes if you are dyslexic).
You may attempt this as many times as you like over the next four days before you submit your score, however, once you have submitted your score your entry is final.
If you do not submit your score by 9pm GMT on Thursday, your pup will place last.
Okay, here we go!
Running race:
The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
Thought he looked just like a piece of log!
The lazy dog just gave a sigh,
He wiggled his ears and winked his eye,
And watched the quick brown fox go racing by!
And as the dog just gave a weary frown,
The quick brown fox went hurrying into town!
The fox just jumped along,
And sang his foxy song.
The dog was sleeping round the clock;
His snores were loud and long!
And when he snored he sounded like a frog,
As the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog!
Audio version here.
Superhuman running race:
There is but one freedom,
Man running along,
Each step that he's taking,
A step to his soul.
The passion and courage,
It takes to be there,
The spirit of freedom,
Alive in the air!
Whenever the running man awakes,
To challenge, to glory,
He knows he can turn the key once more,
To unlock the soul.
The way becomes clearer, the way is complete.
The need, that of winning,
Admit no defeat,
The circles together,
Hold hands to the sky,
The freedom of running,
The freedom to fly.
Audio version, first three verses, up until musical interlude.
Tug of war:
Same principle, except all parties take part, and then we average the score. Lowest time wins.
Buddy you're a big boy make a big noise
Playin' in the street gonna be a big man some day
You got mud on yo' face
You big disgrace
Kickin' your can all over the place
Singin'
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you
Buddy you're a young man hard man
Shoutin' in the street gonna take on the world some day
You got blood on yo' face
You big disgrace
Wavin' your banner all over the place
We will we will rock you
(Sing it)
We will we will rock you
Audio version here, up until the end of chorus two.

If I lose the notifs among all the other fair stuff do give me a poke. I'm going to tag Bonnie and Guppy together without switching accounts if that's okay to keep it simpler.
