Thursday DE: speed dating (or speed hating) edition

You ever feel like it’s hard to meet characters? Hard to find reasons to throw two characters together, and not sure you want to commit to a whole scene? Let’s try speed dating: Comment with your characters below, and people will tag in for a speed date. To simulate the time limit, each conversation can go no longer than 7 tags from each person. Characters who come as a set can absolutely join too, nothing wrong with a three-way or more-way date! (And no, these absolutely do not have to be dating-type conversations. Speed arguing, speed hating, speed friendly chatting, those are good too. Just throw characters at each other.)

This is all off-the-record, of course, not really IC. Unless someone has a character who wants to ICly set this up.

So many questions! "Can you sense it? What's your galaxy like? What's sapir tea?" She can't keep it all in. "Should we have some?"

Baze laughs. She's so curious! She reminds him of the little acolytes back at the temple.

"In order, no, I'm Force-blind. My galaxy is huge; we have had faster-than-light travel for thousands of years, so we've colonized a ton of planets," he babbles, grinning. "The planets usually only consist of one type, such as desert or forest. And sapir tea is Chirrut's favorite drink. It tastes of green and growing things. We can certainly have some!"

He waves down a waitrat and orders a pot of sapir and two cups.

(OOC: Oh, seven tags from each person! My bad.)

"So you live in outer space?" That's very impressive to her. She takes a cup and takes a small sip before smiling. "I like green and growing things."

[iprotectyou]

"Well, technically I lived on a desert moon with a permanent winter called Jedha," Baze says with a wink. He indulges in his tea, enjoying it with gusto. "But yes, I lived in outer space, compared to you Earthers. I still can't get over the fact that you all mostly don't have space travel. And I don't know of a single person who doesn't like green and growing things."

"A desert moon with a permanent winter," she sighs. It sounds romantic, to her. "Space travel just seems so far away. Not that it's something I think about all too much."

[iprotectyou]

"I think it's hilarious that you all named your moon, Moon," Baze saysz chortling. "And Jedha was cold, so much so it was biting and uncomfortable most of the time. But Jedha was home."

If he sounds more than a bit wistful and looks like he's on the verge of happy tears, please forgive him, Rose. He's as fond of his home as he is of his friend.

"We got it right, though, didn't we?" She smiles. "Home is a good place. I'm trying to find one again."

[iprotectyou]

"You, too, huh?" Baze says, his gaze softening. "Good luck. How about Milliways? It seems like a good enough place."

[manythorned]

"I can't just stay here forever, can I?" Not that she hasn't thought about it. Things seem easier here. "I have a life outside my door."

[iprotectyou]

"That's good!" Baze says, beaming at her. "Unfortunately, my time is up, so I'll have to let you get back to that life of yours. It was a pleasure to meet you, Rose! Maybe we'll run into each other again."

And he's off, whistling a jaunty tune from a world not his own.
