Thursday DE: speed dating (or speed hating) edition

You ever feel like it’s hard to meet characters? Hard to find reasons to throw two characters together, and not sure you want to commit to a whole scene? Let’s try speed dating: Comment with your characters below, and people will tag in for a speed date. To simulate the time limit, each conversation can go no longer than 7 tags from each person. Characters who come as a set can absolutely join too, nothing wrong with a three-way or more-way date! (And no, these absolutely do not have to be dating-type conversations. Speed arguing, speed hating, speed friendly chatting, those are good too. Just throw characters at each other.)

This is all off-the-record, of course, not really IC. Unless someone has a character who wants to ICly set this up.

"Its a planet in the Hegen Hub. Are you on diplomatic duty too?"

"Aw Christ, another person from another planet?" What is with this place and people from other planets. "We've no got people from other planets yet in my time. But aye, I'm on diplomatic duty. That's what's got you in London? Why London?"

Ivan sips his wine as that's a harsh reaction to being fro another planet, "Yes, its a cultural capital and where our embassy is."

"Aye, but--what about, I don't know, Edinburgh?" Why does it have to be England?

A mental review of the conversation, though, has him frowning at himself. "--Look, I didny mean--it's all right, coming from another planet, I'm just saying it's not what I'm used to. But...eh...so what's Barrayar like?"

"I don't know. I don't think I've been there. Its nice, glad to be away. I know too many people there. What's Rome like?"

[likeroaringlions]

"Oh, it's fine. It's very...grand. Very beautiful. Lots of people, lots of fine buildings and paintings and...music..."

Shrug?

"It all gets boring especially if all you're allowed to do is smile and look nice."
