Testy Tuesday
Morning, Milliways, or whatever time of day wheresoever you are!
Thanks to the next two days of my life:
How does your character prepare for tests? This can be literal tests--a school exam or final project, tryouts, contests--or more metaphorical ones, like a life or death mission or preparing to tackle a problem more boldly and publicly and possibly confrontationally than before, or even something others might thing mundane but which is a serious emotional challenge.
Does your character cram heavily right before? Do they just punt studying/preparing altogether no matter the circumstances? Do they work better with other people, or alone? Does it make them panic, or does it give them focus? If different kinds of tests make them react differently, that's interesting too! Why?

Sabine, Ms Imperial MIT, is actually pretty disciplined about studying early and often. She doesn't bother with cramming the night before because she knows the subject cold, and so aims for a good nights sleep. She works well with others I think, and so I can imagine other students learned to find excuses or resigned themselves to study groups. On her own, she'll rely on flashcards and quizzes she prepares for herself.
Metaphorical tests simply blindside her and she does her best to weather them.
Ahsoka faces tests with more brashness and willfulness than studying. She likely crams the night before, although I can see her studying by some portable method as well; just not enough to convince herself she knows the topic. She tends to think best on her feet (read by the skin of her teeth) and so puts some forethought into tests, but not a whole lot. There's usually other things to worry about.
Sam Wilson preps and learns the subject cold. He works well solo or in a group but prefers working with a group.
Selina scoffs at you losers who have to worry about tests. Tools.

This can happen. It's been too long since Bar has been blessed with her presence.

Chirrut, that bastard, didn't need to study for anything, and would always pass with flying colors.

If they're approaching the end of a Phantom-Thieves mission, Yusuke's channeling his nervous energy into getting the calling card ready, being the only one in the group with much artistic talent to speak of.
If it's November, he's doing a less-good job of acting like everything's normal, but no one talks to him at school anyway. But that would be spoilers.no subject
I've...got some lazy, procrastinating, fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants, go-it-alone people in my roster.
When Emcee has to face something unpleasant or just something he doesn't want to do, he puts it off for as long as possible, and then scrambles at the next to last moment to prepare. Somehow this works for him.
Pam does the least amount of work necessary and doesn't bother with extra credit. Did the work, done. Also, she's not stupid. Despite her boredom she absorbs and remembers information more readily than anyone would suspect.
Floki is a weirdo who thinks that whatever he needs in the moment will come from the gods, so I think maybe just a lot of prayer and sacrifices go into his preparation.
Cassidy is a big proponent of running away from tests and challenges and dilemmas altogether. If he can skip out on doing the thing, he will. However, if people are depending on him, or actually need his help to do a thing, he'll work with them just fine and do his part.

Lois alternates between nope just winging it and legit prep in that for school, she'll blow it off if something else has her attention, but she does try to cover her ass by applying herself so she doesn't lose privileges. As for more metaphorical tests... well. She does try to prepare when she knows what's coming--like borrowing flash grenades from her dad without actually asking for an infiltration run--but, well, when she has to, nope. She'll just wing it.
Anakin: Preparing? Okay slightly more seriously he does actually prep for missions. Mostly. Usually. Sort of. If he has at least half a plan. Um.
Tavi: He definitely studied hard for academic tests, including when he knew damned well that he was going to get penalized by the teacher. He also does his best to prep for any and all metaphorical tests, because seriously, if you're prepared, you're stacking the odds in your favor as best you can. That said, well, no one ever said Tavi isn't good at improvisation.
As for me, well. I tend to cram unfortunately often. Metaphorical Tests I have recently tried to, er, plan more for, and my next actual test I have both crammed for and done a little longer-term prep for. Metaphorical one of death meeting today went amazingly well.
Martial arts belt test tomorrow. Only second section, not hard, but still. Wish me luck.
