Wednesday DE: More AU

 As it's AU week anyway -- remember the old Hogwarts AU we had on MM back on LJ? Even if not -- who would your character be, what House, student or teacher or other? Death Eater or Dumbledore's Army?

Jim would be in Slytherin, obviously. I'd probably play him as a student, though he could equally be a professor. He could easily be the astronomy teacher, for example - though he'd never just be a teacher. He'd never be so crass as to be a Death Eater either, though he'd give ol' Voldy a few pointers on how to cause some trouble.

Gah, now I really want to fic this. Teacher or student, he'd do his own thing and make the war mess worse.

Selina was Slytherin for the old MM Hogwarts AU, and I can't see anything else. There's a reason I keep this icon for her.

Sam Wilson is Hufflepuff and likely a retired auror, since the wizarding world doesn't seem to do armies.

Star Wars doesn't quite translate, but Ahsoka would be Gryffendor and Sabine would be Ravenclaw, though I could see an arguement for Hufflepuff.

Touji and Izana would go to Abe no Seimei's Onmyodo school and I have no idea if houses would be a thing there.

Danny is kind of tough. Gryffindor is my first instinct but a lot of what drives him the first season could be viewed as a Hufflepuff pushed too far.

Hank Ravenclaw. Hands and paws down, Ravenclaw.

Sahaal would definitely be Ravenclaw, probably a prefect. Same for Sevatar. To be honest, they probably wouldn't be in either the Death Eaters or the DA, they'd be amongst those students that ran from the fighting, because it'd be too much like a fair fight.

Artyom would be in Gryffindor, hands down. I think he'd be the History of Magic teacher, and allied with Dumbledore.

I can see Yrael as Care of Magical Creatures instructor, though general instructions in his class might boil down to "a little to the left."

Sunshine would be an utter Hufflepuff, excelling in Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts, and spending a lot of her time in the kitchens learning recipes from the house elves. She might be one of those who joined Dumbledore's Army for the chance of learning more, but couldn't back down when the threat to the school and students revealed itself.

Zelgadiss would be in Slytherin, and probably volunteers in the library for the chance of being allowed into the restricted section. He wouldn't be a Death Eater, however. Much the opposite.

Wilford would still be a shit-stirring tabloid journalist. He's just be spreading fake news and making everyone's lives miserable. So, no change there really. I don't think he'd align himself either way, because there'd be too much good stuff on both sides.


Btw, apologies to everyone I was threading with. A stupid accident involving industrial bleach powder and my bath tub has made doing everything difficult, so I kind of just dropped off there to focus on sleeping all week. And now I've got company coming over, on top of it. I'll try to pick up threads again before the weekend. :/

As I said in the Fantastic Beasts AU DE:

Baze is a decidedly unmagical person (squib?) who wanted more than anything to be accepted at Livermony, but wasn't due to his lack of talent. He pals along with his wizard friend, Chirrut, and tries not to believe in magic despite the evidence staring him in the face. He certainly doesn't approve of Chirrut using magic to solve all his problems.

Give or take 'Japan has its own magical school' which certainly wouldn't provide education to all of Asia, what the hell, JK, Yusuke is very much a Ravenclaw of the Luna Lovegood stripe. He wants to know more about the world around him, primarily for his art's sake, and doesn't worry about coming off as disconnected from others. (Just don't call him weird to his face.)

Also, whatever corruption has arisen to fill the void left behind by Voldemort can expect itself to be well and truly opposed.

So I'm starting with the ones I've done before and then the newer ones.

Will S. is in Gryffindor, a student without a lot of money but great Quidditch player, Chaser, later captain, who would go and be an Auror except there are Dark wizards in Nottingham creating problems.

Sameth is from a long line of Gryffindor wizards who are known for dealing with necromancers. He ends up sorted into Ravenclaw, his older sister is Head Girl in Gryffindor, captain of the Quidditch team, he feels like he doesn't fit. His best friend is Nick Sayre, who I don't know if he's Ravenclaw or something else.

Charles is a Ravenclaw with a gift for Legimens that he's working on perfecting and has a complicated relationship with Erik, transfer student from Durmstrang in Slytherin.

Moist is in Slytherin and from a long line of pure blooded wizards that he finds kind of embarrassing.

William is a muggle but good friends with wizards because out west, its much harder to hide.

Quentin according to word of god that makes a lot of sense is Slytherin from a long line of pure blood wizards but who is deeply connected to people who've kept him from the old prejudices. His canon is tricky to map onto Hogwarts.

Cassian probably wouldn't go to Hogwarts unless it was on a scholarship but he would be in Hufflepuff and then end up an Auror who spends a lot of time trying to find cracks to bring down Death Eaters.

Ivan would be either a Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, I'm not sure which from a long line of wizards.

Demeter can kind of fit in as herself and she's such a Hufflepuff as is Tumnus.

Eriond: lolHufflepuff. I-- I don't even know what he'd be. Other. Very other. Don't ask me what. Good Guy.

Evelyn: Toss-up Ravenclaw or Hufflepuff. DA, definitely. Student. Until she graduates and is on the front lines.

Lois: lolGryffindor. Student. DA.

R2: Slytherin. Maaaaybe Hufflepuff. But Slytherin. Other. (Possibly magical construct by a Hufflepuff?) DA.

Anakin: lolGryffindor. Pretty much all things as he grows from student in the First War days (Good Side) to grown-up not-a-student (DE) at the end of that and in the interim, to just going screwit and dying for his Very Good Side kid during canon-like days. He can't help it.

Tavi: I could write pages on this. The summary is that Tavi gets Harry's choice four-way choice. He goes, "I mean I know my family is mostly Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw has All The Learns, but if Slytherin weren't entirely full of jerks I'd be super interested in it because I love clever thinking and I want to be everything I can, do the most. But if I'll make the most difference by being there despite the jerks, I'll face anything they throw at me, I don't care how hard they make anything for me, I won't let anything stop me." The emotion behind that is 'overcome even the scariest challenges if I have to,' which is arguably a weird form of ambition? But it's by doing things that make everyone--himself included--wonder if he's lost his mind it's so risky/full of why, why even are you doing this. So the hat just cracks up and tosses him straight into Gryffindor.

His arc definitely starts student and grows through to post-student, he is Definitely Good Guys, but I have trouble fitting it into Potter plot because it's kind of a bad fit? (Also literally Green-Eyed Orphan Hero.) So. *hands* Four-way choice unintentionally ending in Gryffindor (he really didn't intend that), definitely student with rather complete arc, very anti wizard Nazis/neo-Nazis Bad Guy/Death Eater Types.

Tess and Sikozu are Ravenclaws. Tess would probably be a teacher, in the sciences of some kind, and Sikozu would be a student. I don't think either would take a position in either camp.

Kylo is - WAIT FOR IT - a Slytherin. Death Eater.

Rose is a Hufflepuff. Student, Dumbledore's Army.
