Introducing... otherways.

Otherways is going to be an alternate version of Milliways. It's not "just starting up" -- it'll have been there about as long as Milliways has, but the characters will be very, very different.

When the community first starts up, I'll be taking a *while* to set up a cohesive backstory -- which characters have done what with what other characters. Will Todd be head of the security staff? Will Fleur be a prude? Will Crichton and Anthy be married, with Millie and Wade their children? It really depends on which muns decide to join in on the project and what backstories they create between and amongst each other. Your character CAN NOT have the same personality in Otherways that they do in Milliways. Whether their different personality has always been the case for that version of your character, or whether they've (become jaded/opened up to their feelings/started using heroin) only after experiences they've had in Otherways, is the choice of the mun.

Once we have the history of this AU ready (give this at least a few weeks! lol), we can start RPing it. This community will have nothing whatsoever to do with Milliways at first, though the characters are the same (you CANNOT JOIN OTHERWAYS unless that character is already in Milliways!).

The other mods and I have been e-mailing back and forth about this, and sice you've decided to make the announcement, now seems as good a time as any to tell you what we've decided. otherways is a grand concept, and we have no problem with it going ahead, but we're going to have to say 'no' to crossovers.
