Monday DE: Tattered boots

Good morning Milliways. Let's grab a hand full of suspension of disbelief and imagine our pups are video game characters. If they were to die, what loot would drop?

Emcee: a martini glass, a sparkly bow tie, and a microphone

Pam: a pair of stiletto shoes, a tube of lipstick, and a bottle of TruBlood

Floki: an axe, a model Viking ship, and an idol of Odin

Cassidy: a pair of red mirrored sunglasses, a medical blood bag, and a bong

Well. If anybody were to figure out how to get into Wilford's inventory right now, they'd find his .44 Magnum, along with something random like a brick or something.

I forgot Charles, the LARP last night was amazing and tiring.

Cassian: an adjustable blaster, a set of lockpicks, information about next Rebel mission that's in code, depending on how the game works-Kay will now come after you or become your reluctant companion, also possibly keys to a ship

Quentin: phone that will work in the Summerlands, reward card for a local coffee shop, short sword

Charles: keys to the Xavier mansion, a chess piece, a notebook with notes on mutants and his wheelchair

Sameth: sword, one or two of his creations-random how useful they actually are, possibly some connection to Yrael, not sure how that mechanic might work out

William: gun, horse, lasso, dime novel

Will S.: sword, bow, something connecting him to Robin

Moist: stolen money, forging kit

Ivan: weapon, full wallet, official Barrayaran IDs, private comm link to the palace

Demeter: her cloak which affords a measure of ability to hide yourself, loaf of bread

Tumnus: handkerchief, scarf, diplomatic papers

Given what we see of canon Sameth and Yrael's post-Orannis interactions, I suspect Sameth would keep a tin of sardines or something similar on him just in case they crossed paths. In the context of video games/RPGs, this might even serve as a item to be used to summon Yrael's aid in battle. :D

Amascut and Fairy Fixit are videogame characters, but are not killable or even fightable yet. They are too important to the plot still. But I imagine the players who pay no attention to the lore may still want to kill Amascut because of the epic loot she might drop. The founder of the Slayer Order has to have some sort of epic weapon hidden on her, right? Possibly some sort of a God Slayer?

For Fairy Fixit I'll go with something she actually sells in the "Old School" version of the game: one or several fairy ring enchantment scrolls so that you can plant a fairy ring teleportation network node anywhere with adequate soil.

Evil Chicken, btw, always had a very lame (but logical) drop table: bones, feathers, and a chicken carcass. Nothing magical or evil about a dead evil chicken, after all.

Sahaal: an Astartes combat knife, a whetstone, his keys, about thirty US dollars in various currencies, half an energy bar and a copy of whatever book he's reading this week.

Defeating secret optional boss Yrael grants the player an item that can be used to summon him to temporarily fight for you in battle. The item is a consumable, however, and is only good for one use. By mere coincidence, it is shaped like a tin of sardines.

Raph: Weapons. Just different kinds of bladed things. And his security badge.
Mike: Random bits of whatever. His pockets contain multitudes.
Splinter: Throwing stars. Tea. A small wakesashi.

Aang: Bison whistle. Marbles. Probably his glider.
Bumi: A flask of whiskey. A boomerang. Flute.

Sariel: A data chip containing the access code to a Federation shuttlecraft, a candle (not usable by evil-aligned characters), a seaglass square etched with stars and feathers (can provide a dexterity and relevant skill boost, dependent on player class), a new lavender seedling. Her communicator, rank insignia and uniform are notably not present.
iprotectyou: Baze smiling the tiniest bit (why hello there)

[personal profile] iprotectyou 2017-09-26 03:41 am (UTC)(link)
I hate to say it, but Baze--only killable by grenades, and has a ton of health--would probably drop his gun, along with the belts, power cells, and coolant tank. That would be an orange or purple level drop, however. More common drops would be his knives, shockstick, macrobinoculars, or surprise tea.

But he is a video game character Skill cards, probably (those being things the protagonist can use to teach one of his summons a spell they can't otherwise pick up; Yusuke's your resident card duplicator).

Technically, Ibani IS a video game character! Player characters don't normally drop loot when they die though.

But, if she were like a boss monster from group content in her canon game, she'd drop her lightsaber and/or a piece of her armor for the group that killed her. Possibly some miscellaneous lower quality weapons that she's picked up during her adventures too, or crafting materials like crystals or metals.
