tuesday de: laser sword
You all know why.
(Some of you very much know why.)
So! What is your character's Star Wars personal weapon of choice? And I do mean one that can be carried. Machine guns and death sticks and grenades and such count; vehicles and similarly sized weapons do not. (ps: don't forget color! lots of nifty star wars weapons have colors, not just lightsabers!)
And for those who already live there: if they didn't use their weapon of choice, what would they like to learn to use? Or tell us all about their weapon, the chances there's headcanon about it or Wookieepedia on it are basically 100% in a world where half the random items seen on screen have names and backstories.

First, I'll just quote the Wookieepedia page:
"The MWC-35c "Staccato Lightning" repeating cannon was a heavy repeating blaster manufactured by Morellian Weapons Conglomerate. Powered by condensed K-grade conductor cells and cooled by a tankage of R717 refrigerant (ammonia), the MWC-35c had a capacity of 35,000 rounds when fully charged and had two fire modes: a standard mode which fired at a rapid rate and a secondary mode which was a single-fire power shot. In the standard mode, the MWC-35c's electroscope's smart targeting array took into account the user's position and facing, grouping shots into bursts to maximize hits on specified targets. In the secondary mode, the blaster's lower barrel collected energy into single shots primed by a pump-action foreguard. Both modes drew from the same power source, but yielded different levels of destructive output."
And from the Visual Dictionary:
Other nifty facts about this gun:
I just have a lot of feelings about Baze being a one-man army, okay

Cassidy has had his hands on an unloaded blaster but he's a terrible shot so it's best that nobody gives him a loaded one.

Or something.
Those were good times says the other pup.

Sinric has never been one for weapons. But I could see him being very graceful with a gold lightsabre.
Bodhi's weapon of choice is a tool kit. But if needs much, the laser cannons on the front of a small ship.

Fairy Fixit will use whatever is handy, which might be limited to toydarian sized things because of her tiny hands, but dart gun/neural inhibitor would be her backup.

Quentin in canon uses a sword, Fae don't kill, so I can see him using a blaster set on stun or a vibraknife.
William would use a blaster and possibly have a blaster rifle.
Sameth, I think if Sameth were in Star Wars', he'd be Force sensitive, not sure about a Jedi. I think he'd end up with some type of modified energy weapon, probably a blade versus a blaster.
Moist wouldn't carry a weapon but he would steal the charges and ammo for other peoples.
Will S. would use a blaster and a vibraknife.
In terms of weaponary, Vorkosigan isn't too different from Star Wars and Ivan's main weapon is a blaster and he often has a knife as well.
Demeter doesn't really need to carry weapons and Tumnus wouldn't.

Chirrut's lightbow is hella scarier than another lightsaber user, that thing is a death monster of awesome.

Evelyn: Sniper rifle for ranged combat, I think, and definitely staff for close quarters. Unless there's a staff in Star Wars somewhere that shoots? If not she'll just engineer it. Being Star Wars, though, it might end up shooting electricity (which is like her least favorite element in her canon). ...of course, if she's Force-sensitive--which she might be, Player Character powerful mage+Rift magic-->good approximation--then we just go SQUEE LIGHTSTAFF YAY. Blue, because her canon power is ice, but she'd do a ton of ranged Force techniques too.
Lois: Blaster a la Standard Rebellion Issue. Probably some skill with a knife, definitely good at unarmed combat. But really, weapons are not her primary thing.
R2-D2: [beep BEEP boop-beep bip WHRRRRR boop ip-EEEE bop whrrrrr. Boop bip bwrrp. Mrwp-oop.]
Tavi: Oooooo this is a great question for him actually. He-- ... okay, actually, he probably takes after Ezra Bridger of Star Wars Rebels. Canonically Tavi's really good with a sling, so Ezra's little electric slingshot thing is right up his alley. And I can see him picking up a ton of fighting with, like, basically anything that comes to hand up until someone points out that--being literally the Farm Boy Orphan Hero With Dormant Superpowers (seriously I cannot break trope here)--he's Force-sensitive.
Then he gets a laser sword. ... Look he basically gets one in canon, metalcrafting is a thing. For his blade... hmm. If you ignore KotOR, blue, because Red and Blue are Aleran colors and red is busy being Teh Ebolz. If you take KotOR into account, possibly green? IDK. Hey, it would go with his eyes! (Kitai's metalcrafting canonically sparks purple, and she's fairly unique in canon, so I tooootally can see Kitai getting a purple lightsaber a la Mace Windu.) But anyway. Tavi pretty much goes with anything he has handy, but once he gets to activate Jedi, hells yes he's doin' that. Honestly, again, taking after Ezra feels safe, and engineering a friggin' gun-saber is totally something this geek would do. Except he'd try to make it look prettier.
Anakin Skywalker: Ha. Ha ha. Ahahahaha. Ha. ... now just pretend that laughter was in James Earl Jones' voice yes vader never laughs that's what makes it scary but uh anyway there is lightsaber and there is the force
-chokehe's all set bye now(except to note that he will always be particularly proud of his second lightsaber--SPOILER WARNING IN THAT LINK--which he will always consider the most elegant he built and one of the finest pieces of lightsaber construction he has seen in his life and he hates his third lightsaber for not being elegant enough but it needed to be larger and heavier and yeah anyway point is that second lightsaber of his is the best lightsaber in history of ever as far as anakin's concerned just so we're all clear)

Rose shouldn't be given anything remotely dangerous. Double goes for Thorn.
Sikozu would like a lightsaber, thank you very much.
Kylo, well. Prefers his lightsaber cause that took some time, man. But I suppose a riot baton would do.

Sabine has a pair of WESTAR-35 blasters; one painted yellow, the other blue. Canon doesn't give anything special about them, aside from the fact that Mandalorians seemed to like them. They don't seem too powerful in canon, so I've decided they are amazingly accurate.
Ahsoka has a lightsaber with a green tinged blade. Later, she gains another crystal and Anakin makes her a shoto lightsaber as a way to giving her more protection and playing to her natural skills.
(He just wishes she'd stop with the reverse grip already.)The shoto 'saber has a shorter blade and is a yellow-ish green color.Sam Wilson would end up having various droids as his weapons, were he in the SW universe. I'm thinking modified parrot droids, but I'm sure he would pick up a wide variety of flying or floating types.
And dang it, my brain is not working this morning for other answers.
