Wednesday DE: Nasty
Brought to you by the realisation how genuinely unpleasant The Bitch from "Bitch Better Have My Money" is: - what are the most off-putting characteristics of your characters?

-Complete lack of articulated facial features
-Incapable of speaking out loud in a language that the bar's translation magic will actually work on, unless you're also a robot or a cyborg or brought translation equipment
-Was originally programmed to kill humans, has indeed killed a lot of humans, cannot disable murder programming entirely or stop it from switching itself on at unwanted times
-Kind of blunt

Anyway. With very few exceptions - at least when he's being himself - Jim will talk to you as if you're boring, and he's suffering through the conversation. No doubt a very off-puttng characteristic.
On a less day-to-day level, there's the general lifestyle of, 'I take money to try and entertain myself, and sometimes people die in the process. I am not in the least sorry about this'. He is unaplogetic about what he does and why he does it, and I imagine the lack of remorse is something of a turn off to most people.

(Also, oh my God, playing Lucifer is harder than I thought because HE'S SO MEAN. I FORGOT HOW MUCH I DON'T LIKE BEING MEAN.)

This is why I can't play villain pups. I am the same way and end up bending them to be nicer.

Sabine: She is fascinated by weapons, no matter what they do to people. In fact, she can be callous in fawning over them.
Tybalt: Killing is just a part of life to him and sometimes he'd rather kill to solve the problem than figure out something which requires more work, but might be the more moral answer. His self confidence. It is so potent that it often reads as arrogance to those who don't know him. There's one canon quote I don't remember exactly, but it was something like "Tybalt could meet Oberon himself and not be fazed."
Danny: OMG, he is completely blind to his privilege, is as self focused as any teenager, and thinks a simple solution will make a complex problem go away.

Fairy Fixit is mostly monsterous due to her gray morality. She won't chide you for murdering innocent tourists.

-Continued praising Sombra after she was uncomfortable, failing to realize this despite blatant hints.
-Always wants physical contact.
-Nurses grudges.

Asami – Is rich and pretty. This is a really silly answer but it's also canonically what people find off-putting about her. Also she occasionally hits people with her car.

According to A New Dawn, Kanan used to hit on basically every single woman he ever came across. Every. Single. One. So just be glad he doesn't do that anymore. And while he's not nearly as bad about it as he used to be, Kanan still sometimes falls back on his veneer of being at ease, jokey, and not-too-emotionally-invested in anything, which can be grating at points. Also, as a teacher he can be both insecure and impatient, which can be frustrating for his students.

Mike can be a bit insincere. He has a NASTY temper, when it does get tripped. And he can have some issues with personal space.
Splinter is emotionally distant.
Aang likes to avoid his responsibilities. Also he's kind of oblivious to the plight of nonbenders.
Bumi can be crass. He has a tendency to talk to loud, and over people. And you can maybe believe about a third of what he says.
The Oompa Loompas are evil.

Ysalwen -- Wants to be helpful so badly she can cross over into pushy and overbearing really easily, and frequently does. Occasionally bemoans the shittiness of Thedas and circumstances of her life there, can be overbearing about that, too.
Wonder Woman -- Good at almost everything, thinks she knows the best way to do most things, too nice. Falls into the arrogance of the self-assured trap when she makes other people's decisions for them, even when it ends for the best. (see League of One.)
Flemeth -- speaks in riddles that only make sense to her, incredibly mocking, bent on revenge
Sombra -- is a villain. Kills people because it's easy and to accomplish her mission. Works for an evil organization. Made of vicious mockery and lies. I suppose her amusement about her conversational partners can get annoying, too.
Raven -- name me one thing about him that is not off-putting. I'll wait.
Thrawn -- evil. He is also incredibly arrogant. So arrogant. My god. And condescending.
Nynaeve -- her temper is incredibly unpleasant. Her impatience, too. And she's just generally grating to be around, even when she's your healer.

Lois: Nosiness and her inability to keep her mouth shut sometimes.
Evelyn: in her own world, being a mage is definitely at the top of the list! And for some in Milliways too, no doubt. More personally, right now she's really insecure and uncertain and kind of seeking validation and security and that's a hard thing to deal with for extended periods. It's not her fault she's broken, but broken is definitely an emotional drain.
Tavi: makes a conscious effort to control his worst sides, which are mostly arrogance mostly around 'no one gets to tell him what to do anymore' (Kitai excepted but Kitai is Kitai and is outside rules) and being fairly certain he can think his way out of basically any problem; a temper he usually keeps on a tight leash but when he loses it can lead to bloodshed; being something of a compulsive fixer which can definitely get a little overbearing; and the thing he really tries to keep locked inside his head but does come out if you talk to him right where he constantly processes how he can use any tool or situation or person to best advantage for the lives he's responsible for. He does know he does all this and makes a conscious effort to contain it all! It leaks out. Oh right, the fact that he is also an emperor and war leader would definitely be off-putting to some people (and his magic powers, if you have problems with that). And these days he's usually carrying a baby in-Bar and some people really don't want to deal with infants. OH! Also his really nasty habit of thinking it's funny not to tell people things.
R2: most people can't understand him. Also, he swears a lot and is actually kind of a dick.
Anakin: His temper, his various prejudices, his religious convictions, his arrogance, his calm about killing and the occasional torture, his piloting (he's a very good pilot, see, people survive crashes with him that they never would have survived with anyone else and he can even save some into being just a slightly uncontrolled landing rather than a crash per se), his idea of mechanics ("let me rip this to shreds and rebuild it better! No, really, I swear you want it this sensitive!"), his idea of ethics around how one uses the Force, his very occasional tendency to have a psychotic break and go on killing sprees, his obsessive tendencies.

Charles: Arrogant, has serious ethical issues about his telepathy, rich and privileged
Quentin: Arrogant though getting a little better, still has some internal bigotry about humans, changelings
Moist: Liar, conman, amoral
Ivan: Overbearing, arrogant, flirt who pushes it at times, improves over the course of canon, has some bigoted ideas, thankfully usually too well bred to show them but in there
William: Comfortable with violence, puts his family above all, doesn't always quickly change his mind
Will S.: Thief, killer, has a quick temper
Demeter: Not human, looks it but not human
Tumnus: He can be a slight coward.

Floki - Religious fanaticism, casual discussion of violence and ritual sacrifices.
Pam - Ice queen bitch vampire. Condescending toward humans. And werewolves. And everyone else, really.
Cassidy - Drug and alcohol addiction, not taking responsibility for his actions, lying and keeping secrets to save himself, a violent criminal past. (If I were listing comics!Cassidy characteristics, I'd have to include being a creepy obsessive/possessive asshole.)

In his own words, Sherlock is "the most unpleasant rude, ignorant, and all-around obnoxious asshole anyone could have the misfortune to meet. I am dismissive of the virtuous, unaware of the beautiful, and uncomprehending in the face of the happy... I am a ridiculous man." Milliways Sherlock is a bit nicer than that. Just a bit.
