Thursday DE: a light dawns

What's something your character is really darn pleased with themselves for figuring out? I'm thinking more little things (like when I finally worked out how to use the hot water in the college dorm showers, all those years ago) but Big Life Lessons are fine too!

Her reverse grip. It is none standard and her master hates it, but it works wonders for her.

Emcee is proud of himself for learning how to use a smartphone and tablet. For a long time he didn't think that future technology would be relevant to him, but as he started coming to Milliways more often, he saw the novelty in it at first, and then the advantages. He also thought the knowledge was beyond him, but I think he was afraid of coming off as a ditz if he found that he couldn't understand how to use them. But now he's a pro at taking selfies, so.

Baze is proud of figuring out whittling. He sliced his thumb open a few times before he finally got the hang of it. He's also happy that he figured out beer brewing, and fireworks making. He'll be pleased to learn the waitrats' language, as that has been a real struggle lately.
