Monday DE: I saw it on Main street

Hey, it's Monday isn't it? I'm feeling better and so hope to be back on track within a day or so.

On my commute, I often see a weathered, off road-type van that's been painted to look like a Nuka Cola service van from Fallout. It's pretty awesome and seeing as how I live in the SF Bay Area, I'm pretty sure it has some connection to Burning Man.

I also often see a motorcyclist with Captain America's shield and helmet. I can only assume the shield is some kind of backpack, but it brings a smile to my day every time I seem them.

There's also a Falcone Plumbing business in my town, a family name which any Gothamite will recognize I am sure.

So, any canon bleeds in your life, whether your own or another patron's?

There's a couple of local groups in my area that do Repo! & Rocky Horror shadowcasts at cons, so I've gone to conventions where Repo! genterns/nurses are wandering around in costume offering out flyers/announcing shows, while also offering organ replacements at low, affordable payment rates :D

I kind of die inside with awkward giggles every time I encounter the name Calderon in the wild.

The Leia braid is awesome. I may chant the older Jedi code when I need to meditate and can't seem to quiet the monkey brain.

While it's not the same as Calderon, I also giggle when I see Calib.

Oh yeah, I do totally chant the better version of the Jedi code inside my head during martial arts for meditation because I cannot just count or "not think" or whatever. So emotion-yet-peace it is. Works well enough.

Old school D&D more than actual Bar canon, but I'm never going to get over the ads on the Red Line for Vecna Technologies. It took me a while to find proof that they were a legitimate company that was genuinely named Vecna, and not some kind of weird Cambridge-centered performance art mass joke. (For reference, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vecna is what I was thinking of.)

When I visit my parents I cannot help but side-eye the realtors with the big signs out front advertising exceptional homes in the gated community called The Enclave.

And then there was the moment back in 2012 where I stared at the comics page for a while before finally going to check and see whether someone had hacked King Features Syndicate to mess with the dialogue for Family Circus, but no, Little Billy did in fact ask to dress as a 40K Space Marine for Halloween that year.

When Alan Cumming bought his own little cabaret bar that features different acts every day of the week from go-go dancers to jazz bands to burlesque and drag acts, and where he occasionally pops in to serve drinks and dance all night and even sing...well. It's not so much canon bleed as actual Emcee in real life.

It used to happen to me all the time.

A furniture shop near where I grew up called Stanton Davies, with a grandfather clock displayed in their window (The Dark is Rising).

Happening across a restaurant somewhere near Blackfriars called Shaitan's. (The Wheel of Time).

Looking out of a bus window on a dark rainy night to see a hairdresser called Castiel's.

And, which creeped me out most of all at the time, constantly encountering discarded cans of a soft drink called Ka, scattered around London. One of them was impaled on a fence.

I occasionally see people wearing Overwatch or Homestuck shirts/jackets/hoodies, and once I overheard a conversation about Overwatch gameplay on the train.

My work boots are blood red steelcaps that I've drawn Batman symbols on. One of my equally geeky workmates causal referred to them as my Red Hoods.

After a long discussion with Maru about what foods might be most commonly available in a cold climate desert, I ended up with a dried fruit cookie recipe my workmates know as Jedha Cookies. Only some of them know why.

I often find clothes that Emcee would look awesome in.
