Wednesday DE: Dedication
Now for something completely different: you are giving a copy of your canon(s) to somebody who has never seen / read / heard it: what do you write in dedication?
Brought to you by my giving' 'Struggle for Rome' to my nephew, with the recommendation to a) read the afterword first, no matter how boring, and b) Not to be too impressed by Teja. He's a little small-g goth as it is, and the gothiest Goth who ever gothed might tip him right off his rocker...

October Daye: Toby is depressed in the first few books, things never get easier but she starts being less alone.
X-Men: Feel free to ignore any canon you don't like, the actual canon does that and don't worry if someone dies.
Old Kingdom: There are new books, more books than before.
Discworld: You don't have to like it all, we all have our favorite parts.
Robin Hood: So many options in terms of genre and quality, find which one you like best.
3:10 to Yuma: Don't look for progressive ideas of the West here but instead intense characters and violence, from the same director as Logan-not as violent
Vorkosigan: Miles is a disaster, Barrayar has issues, the women are the best part
Greek Mythology: Everyone's awful and most Classic literature is just mythology fanfic
Narnia: Religion is present, great worldbuilding, might not work for everyone

Rebels: Hold on to your feels.
Knights of Sidonia: Okay, there's a lot of bad fan service, but the space battles are cool and there are horror elements mixed with space kaiju.
Iron Fist: So many things wrong, but the man child hero is refreshing for once, cause he's idealistic rather than just a skirt chaser.
The Gifted: Ever wanted to see how the early days of the X-men dystopia might play out? Well look no farther.

True Blood: If you get bored or confused, just fast forward to the parts with Eric and Pam. You'll thank me later.
Preacher: Do you like vampires, blasphemy, blood and gore, and terrible people? Then this is the series for you!
Vikings: It's like Game of Thrones without the dragons and with some tenuous ties to actual history.
