Friday DE: Movie Meme

 I've seen this a few places, and thought it could be fun to try out with a Milliways twist...chose 5 characters, hit shuffle on your music for a theme, and make a movie!

1-Tag in if you want to play
2-We'll then tag you with 5 characters from Milliways. This can be any character that is currently in play, ours or yours. Include a song if you wish.
3-If you didn't get a song, or the one you were given doesn't inspire, hit shuffle on your music player, hit the radio, or however you want, to get a theme for inspiration.
4-Tell us about your new plot/movie/whatever. This can be a pitch, a fic, or whatever, all that is required is you include the 5 characters you were given.
5-Repeat?

AHAHAHAHA! LET'S DO THIS! *cracks knuckles*

Movie Trailer Time! (It's long. That's how I roll.)

We open on an ordinary night in Milliways. Sahaal, Malbus and Barnes are at the bar, separately enjoying a drink and the evening. Moriarty is in an overstuffed chair nearby, idly red-lining the pages of a book. Not too far off Sinric sits at the piano, toying with the keys and plinking out the first few familiar notes of our song by Queen.

SUDDENLY the front door bursts open and a huge sucking vortex rips through the bar, drawing in litter and furniture and lifting our five from their places. Despite each ones valiant efforts, they are dragged through into the maelstrom and the door slams shut behind them!

EXT. NIGHT A LONELY FORBIDDEN PLANET

Our five wake in the middle of an alien world.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

Bedraggled and confused, they rise, looking around at what appears to be some sort of cosmic dumping ground.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

Jutting rocks and swirling purple-black skies loom over them, the landscape littered with twisted metal debris, scattered broken down ships, and pockmarked with craters of the post-explosion variety.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

Best of all, they aren't alone. Creatures of the nasty teeth and claws variety begin to emerge from the cracks and crannies of the surrounding terrain, slavering at the mouth, growling menacingly with all eyes focused on the quintet.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

Barnes is the first to draw his weapon, Malbus brings his lightbow to bear and Sahaal raises his canon while Sinric and Jim exchange glances behind the trio.

The stand off lasts for one heartbeat. Two. And then the horde is coming and the shooting begins.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

Cut to Black.

Open to: ACTION SHOT. ACTION SHOT. ACTION SHOT.

Barnes shoots a creature in the face, then slams another to the ground with his metal arm!

(Buddy you're a boy make a big noise / playin' in the street gonna be a big man some day)

Malbus rips through a trio of the creatures who are lined up with one bolt from his lightbow!

(you got mud on yo' face)

Sahaal mows down a swarm coming over a ridge, some of the beasts leaping into the air only to be shot down in a hail of laser bullets! (Or… bullets. IDK how Sahaal's weapon works.)

(You big disgrace)

Sinric and Jim hold their own, one armed with a sidearm from Barnes, and the other wielding Baze's staff with surprising skill.

(Kickin' your can all over the place, Singin'--)

(Music cuts)

Baze (still fighting): We need to get out of here!

Sahaal (same): Open to ideas!

Jim turns and spies something in the middle distance.

Jim: I'll be right back.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

He heads off, casual as you please, dispatching creatures along the way.

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

The four remaining fight on, but the tide is turning, the odds stacking against them as the creatures' numbers grow. A veritable army is coming down upon them....

(BUMP, BUMP, THUMP)

… when SUDDENLY a ship comes streaming in, cannons firing and cutting down the beasts. Jim is at the controls.

(We will we will rock you)

More action, more mayhem, more shots of them fighting, and then they're in the ship flying around, obligatory spaceship chase scene - zipping in and out of of the crazy landscape, ducking into a canyon, ('We Will Rock You' repeating over all of it) leading up to tension as they race straight for a cliff face and--

INT. NIGHT A SPACE BAR THAT IS DEFINITELY NOT MILLIWAYS

The music is gone. The five are sitting at a table, Baze, Barnes and Sahaal are nursing drinks looking rather beat-up, Sinric is trying to clean dirt and creature crud from his tunic. Jim appears rather immaculate.

Barnes (to Jim): Where the hell did you learn to fly a spaceship?

Jim: I've never flown a spaceship. But if idiots like these can do it, I figured it must not be that hard. (gestures at Baze and Sahaal)

Ire from the pair is quickly replaced by shock and everyone stares at Jim, flabbergasted.

Sahall: Wait. What?

Cut back to --

EXT. NIGHT ALIEN BOX CANYON

EVERYONE IS SHOUTING AS THE SHIP, tailed by others, SCREAMS TOWARDS THE CLIFF FACE AND THEN SUDDENLY SWOOPS UPWARD; the ships behind slamming into the rock face.

INT. NIGHT SPACE BAR

Everyone continues to stare at Jim.

Baze: And I though Chirrut was crazy.

BOOM! Cut to film title/credits:

(Or something... I kind of suck at titles.)

FADE OUT
