Older pieces, but I've been reminded of them from relistening to past pup playlists...

Massive Attack, feat. Young Fathers, Voodoo In My Blood (Warning for mind control of a woman and allusion to the movie Phantasm in video. No gore, but suspenseful.)

Trapt, Cover Up. Nice hard rock song for that spy or angst prone masked vigilante in your life.

Lykke Li's No Rest For The Wicked. I just love her voice.

In the new music column, Mutants, feat Mr. Pan, Flamenco Boogaloo kind of a Rockabilly Surf mashup? Maybe?

I still love the musical bits The Magicians have done. From season 01's Shake It Off (warning for TV/Hollywood depiction of a mental hospital), season 02's One More Day, from Lez Miserables, and season 03's Under Pressure (warning for language and random violence). Hale Appleman has the best voice of the cast, imho.

And I can't resist the theme songs for canons...
Knights of SIdonia's second opening song is fun if cheesy. Here's the anime's opening and then the official video from the band.

I love the Clone War's variation of the Star Wars theme. That percussion! Also, Anakin and Ahsoka from season two of Star Wars Rebels.

And speaking of SWR, here's Sabine's suite...which...damn. (no spoilers, just the song.)

I think the Iron Fist opening/title sequence is among the best in the Netflix Defenders line up, and the song is damned good as well.

I think the Digimon Adventure 01 and 02 openings hold up pretty well, in a 'early noughties anime made with money found behind a sofa' kind of way. For Tri, there are currently previews out of the 01 theme sung by a combination of the now-deceased original singer and all the voice actors for the human characters.

For Kingdom Hearts Chi, there's its own version of recurring franchise song Dearly Beloved. From the franchise as a whole, Vector to the Heavens is easily one of the best pieces of game orchestration I've heard.

In the interest of staying in-theme, Lúcio has actual music for his music-based abilities in the game, and I was listening to the full track of the speed boost song the other day.

Although I thought of it as "the Lúcioball music" until I actually saw the title, because that's the only time you get to hear more than ten seconds of it.

The healing music's not bad either!
