Friday DE

Yesterday we talked of what is challenging in our writing. Today let's talk about what's fun or what you feel you do well. What bits of writing do you think you do really well? Do you get a chance to weave that into your tags or OOMs? What aspects are really fun and you can't resist including?

I'm in the same boat. If I can find the voice and figure out what makes them tick, everything else falls in line around it pretty easily. I've dropped so many characters because I've been able to do one or the other, but couldn't really get there with the rest and everything wound up flat and boring as a result.

Dialogue comes really easily to me, and I like to think I'm good at it. I wasn't always good at amusing analogies but I practiced for years because that was something I admired about my favourite writers, and now I can do them pretty well; I also like doing colorful narration.
