ways_back_room | Early Monday DE: Enable mode, GO!

There's this plot I've been meaning to do with Sahaal, in which he accidentally finds himself in one of the other universes created by Games Workshop - Dark Future.

For those who can't open the link, it's set in a alternate timeline of the US where Nixon won in 1960, and the next thirty years are basically a slow slide towards the apocalypse. Almost all of the land beyond the Appalachians is desert wasteland, law enforcement is privatised, and everyone acts like it's an extended version of Wasteland Weekend. It's a kinda-obscure setting, but I love it. Mostly because it's a retro 90's dystopia.

I've got most of the plot mapped out, and it would be a mix of exploration and combat. Unfortunately, I've never run a proper plot before, so I could really use some advice and help.

You voice-tested a Mad Max, didn't you? I'm in favour of more Mad Max characters. (It'd be fun to see him compare notes with Ellen Park. Or any other Fallout characters but I think it's basically just her now.)

Yeah, I tried out Max's headvoice, but I didn't think I could get it right. I'd love to see him in the bar though, or any Mad Max characters for that matter.

It's funny you should mention Ellen, though, because I've been working on creating a Courier over the past few weeks. I should get around to testing him at some point.

That'll be fun to see! ... I need to get Ellen's next OOM written. Would've been this weekend but I was attending a con (and cosplaying as a Slocum's Joe employee because after last year's Silver Shroud I was not going to wear anything warm).

Running a plot is fun and usually not difficult. You'll want a back room post to let people know the details, and to hopefully get them to brainstorm as well. Including people as much as possible is key, as is communication. You'll want to try to be flexible and open to suggestions.

All of which is pretty general information. So, for your specific plot, you'll probably want to encourage people to team up to explore/fight things. And you'll want to let people know if you're planning to have them explore in ooms or a party post. Obviously you'll want to ask the mods via email to approve your plot. And, a recent addition, you'll want to come up with a post title for the plot to be called. Good luck! Feel free to poke me if you want to bounce ideas off of me.

I kinda miss the Transformers characters. I don't really know the canon well enough to adopt one, but I liked having them around.

One of my friends liked the idea of playing WX-78 from Don't Starve here when I told them I was apping Bastion, but I haven't heard anything out of them about that since then. It might be fun to have some Don't Starve characters around here. (I've played both Wilson and Wolfgang before, in other RP formats... but I kinda BSed their backstories so I wouldn't have to do too much research, and I'd want to do it properly if I played one of them here, but research is daunting.)

More canonmates would be nice, obviously. (Our Junkrat being active again would also be nice. He was really good and then he disappeared.) Like I mentioned last time the app requests hat got passed around, it'd be nice to have some other recalled Overwatch agents, especially Tracer and Winston but also Reinhardt, Brigitte, and Mei. Or more omnics, including the non-playable ones like Lynx 17 and Maximilien as well as Zenyatta and Orisa, for the sake of having someone to talk to. I really mean it when I say anyone would be great, though.

Seconding any Clone Wars characters!!!

First, a disclaimer:
Ever since I discovered D&D in middle school, RPG has claimed me and I likely have 20% of my brain processing dedicated to it at any given time.

Wanted characters:
I'm deep into the second season of Luke Cage and having all sorts of Danny feels. I'd love a Luke, Coleen, or Misty to bounce off. Foggy would be excellent as well.

Characters I'm currently thinking of:
Thorn, from the Thorn of Brehland series. Super spy in my favorite D&D campaign setting? Hell yeah. She has all best parts of James Bond, Black Widow, and even has elements of The Manchurian Candidate or Borne Legacy...sort of. Might be a bit more Philip K. Dick. She could open the door to some great adventure OOMs set in a pulpy, high fantasy world.

Merisiel, from the Pathfinder RPG . The iconic rogue of the game, she's a delight in the comic and audio dramas, but I'm not too keen on the world she comes from. A little too dude bro, middle school fantasy for my taste.

And every now and then I think how versatile Manannan Mac Lir could be in bar.

Missing Canons:
I'm kind of surprised we haven't seen anyone trying out one of the rebooted Voltron pups. The show's been doing some interesting things with the story.

Plots:
I thought of an escape room plot, where a certain number of character end up in a locked room when they enter the Front Door. A certain number based entirely on who volunteers, of course. Basic idea was that they couldn't force their way out for whatever reason, and instead had to find clues within the room as to how to unlock the door. Challenges would be coming up with a nice puzzle that is discoverable but not too easy. Also, if more than a few people volunteer, I'd need to have another person or so to run another room. Plus there's that whole time thing I seem to be struggling with.

Still, could be fun.

Absolutely seconding the request for a Foggy.

I'd love to bring some more of the wackiness from Wilford's world into the bar, but I don't even know where to start.

Wanted:

Seconding Don on the request for more Marvel Netflix. Getting Luke and Jessica would be awesome-sauce to round out the Defenders. (An evil part of my brain also thinks Stick would be an interesting addition.)

Also in the MCU, still holding out hope for Tom Holland's Spider-man and/or Ned, because YES. And then just any of the new characters, Strange, or T'Challa, or Scott Lang! Ant Man & the Wasp is coming out, the pair of them would be super fun to see!

Arrowverse: Literally anyone would make me super happy. Given the things Cisco and Barry have gotten up to in Milliways, 'telling Caitlin' has come up a few times now and I'm going to need to figure that one out eventually. Of course, the best most fun solution would be to have a Caitlin to bring into Milliways. That said I of course wouldn't want to bind anyone to the timeline I've set up with Cisco and Barry, so Caitlin from any point in canon would be fun to have.

Same goes for all the other characters. I've said before I'd love to see Ray show up, and I would love, love, love a Ralph Dibney. And Supergirl. And Felicity. And Oliver (although he's on the cast list so I don't know if this one is possible). And anyone! Really, just more Arrowverse please.

Plots:

I am so very close to having Barry get his actual superhero name, and then his first team-up with Team Arrow, after that point I would totally love to do some sort of Milliways superhero team-up plot, though I've got no concrete ideas set yet. I just wanna do it, because crossovers are so my jam.

Speaking of crossovers... so, this has been niggling in the back of my mind and doesn't seem to be going away from the ol' brainpan, so I guess I'll bring it up here. Somewhere down the line (say after May 2019... ) I would like to see Infinity War as a multiversal barwide plot type deal. I'm talking Epic with a capital 'E' and all the deleted expletives.

I don't know if there are any plans already in the works, or if this boat has a captain yet. If it does I am so down to hop on board. If it doesn't and people are interested I could possibly maybe put on my tight-pants and take the helm? I just really, really, REALLY, want to see this happen. So, um... yeah.

I kind of love this idea...despite the pain it causes me. Could be something like the All-pocalypse?

Although I'd say it might be better to do it Summer 2019. Give people time to see Avengers 4 before we spoil it for everyone here.

Marvel-muns are still pre-Civil War (some very pre-) and so it will probably be late 2019 before we do anything with Infinity War.

Mostly I just wanted to throw the idea out there go gauge interest and/or see if anyone else had plans already. It'll take a whole lot of plotting out and such, so later in this case is definitely better than sooner. *nods*

I'd love to see some Westworld pups in the bar, partly because the nature of the hosts and what they are, and partly because can you imagine the fun trips bar peeps could take out to Westworld? And the other worlds, potentially.

And Jim wants to get his hands on a host. He would be so on board with William's project. FASCINATING.

I keep meaning to check out West World, but I don't do cable so haven't looked into it.

I literally only started watching it because I took out a subscription to watch something else, and a Tumblr friend had written a Sherlock/Westworld crossover fic that blew me away. I was not disappointed. It's brilliant. S2 finale tonight, and I am excite! :D

I would do unholy things to get a Magnus Bane in here.
