Thursday DE
How proud is your character of their country? Or, if it's more applicable--their world, their home town?
On that note--I'm going to be traveling with limited internet for a while. I'll be missing my usual July 14 Fete National, but if anyone wants to Frenchify things in my absence, go for it!
I will also be missing next Thursday's DE--can someone cover?
Thanks!

She's more than happy to tell people she lives in Megaton, because she admires what most of the people who live there did to survive and build (the rest of them are Children of Atom, who worry her deeply).
She is more than willing to acknowledge that her world is a post-nuclear hell pit and will not take any offense at anyone who says the place looks/sounds/is horrible, because they probably do not have the whole story but are right nonetheless.
But she will punch you in the face if you say something to the effect of 'if it's so awful where you are, why don't people move to Canada?'.

Rose does have some pride from being from Metropolis, as her dad was a police officer for the city. She;s more or less ambivalent about the USA, but certainly considers her self an American.
Kylo's not really from anywhere.
Creed likes Canada, though he spends most of his time in the States. He considers himself Canadian even if it wasn't Canada yet when he lived there.

Eriond is not particularly from anywhere, but he certainly is proud of the Universe in general His mom does good work! And of his planet, which made a lot of super important decisions.
Lois actually has quite the sense of patriotism, if hazily defined and tinged with a lot of cynicism.
Evelyn... okay, has a little Free Marcher independent pride in there somewhere. But mostly, like, subsumed under "werp Circle" issues.
R2 actually has lots of strong feelings about Naboo, the Republic, and later the Rebellion and Resistance. It has more to do with 'these are my meatbags and co-caretakers and the causes they value' than, like, any sense of national/planetary/galactic identity as such? But it works out much the same way.
Anakin... well. Honestly, no. He hates Tatooine, he isn't as proud of the Jedi as he tries to demonstrate he is, he's not nearly as into the Republic as Padme would like him to be, and even Vader isn't actually all that invested in the Empire emotionally--and certainly not with pride, which is too healthy an emotion (even as a nasty or arrogant one) for him to really have. So... yeah. No.
Tavi: Probably more fiercely than any of mine. Calderon, of course, is insanely resilient and keeps proving everyone wrong and keeps forging new bridges and beginnings and he loves that. But both Alerans-his-species and Alera-this-new-Realm-of-multiple-species? His people don't exactly have a shining, glorious history here; it's mostly steeped in war and genocide and slavery. And he knows that. But they built some beautiful things out of it, and they have so much potential to be so much more than that, and they survived the apocalypse and they're learning to be more open and communicative and compassionate and humane and integrated, they're changing, he's going to drag them kicking and screaming into a completely different world forged on the same land they've lived on for centuries--and everything they'll be is so beautiful, and all the lives he's responsible so precious, that honestly the only thing he loves more and is more proud of is his family. (And, to be honest, there are ways in which his mind doesn't actually differentiate completely between his-family's-future and Alera's-future, though he has much less of this problem than literally any Gaius before him. Handy side effect of not being raised imperial royalty.)

Cassian loves Fest, its where he's from and Festian is the language he thinks in first while its food is always home to home. He had to leave as a child but he sees himself as fighting for Fest. Pride is trickier since he knows things are tough but there's pride in how the people of Fest keep finding a way. He makes a clear distinction from his planet, Fest and the Galactic Empire which Fest is part of. Though he does have a stubborn pride connected to being from the Outer Rim of the Empire.
Charles is proud to be a mixture of American and English, and part of that means trying to improve everything.
Quentin is proud to be Canadian and it comes out in fun ways in canon.
William is also proud of being an American, his father fought to keep the country together and he's sees himself as part of making America stretch and grow.
Will S. is proud and loves Nottingham so much, he's also proud of being English but Nottingham comes first.
Demeter is Greek, always but she's lived in France for a long time and cares a great deal for it. Pride for her is about the land and the people on it.
Ivan is proud of being Barrayaran and while he knows all the problems, he knows they're being improved on and the people doing it.
Sameth is so proud of being from the Old Kingdom.
Actually all of mine are in various ways, some more than others, I think Tumnus is probably the most in terms of simple and uncomplicated love and pride for his home.

Kanan has no true home country or homeworld. He was born on Coruscant, but feels no particular draw to it outside the Jedi Temple. In general, I don't think Kanan would be all that fond of Coruscant's intense urban environment. He definitely prefers worlds like Lothal, with plenty of open, natural spaces.
