Thursday DE
Whoops, this one's a bit late, sorry! Let me reach into my bag of DEs and pull out...
Who is someone from your character's past that they would like to speak to? Why? Can they do that?

Sometimes he remembers he has a brother, and has a really strong urge to punch him in the face, though.

There are plenty of people she might like to talk to again, friends back home on Ryloth, her contacts, people's encountered during her work. But the only people she might feel a sense of immediacy about it with are all deceased. And Hera generally makes a point of not becoming preoccupied with what she might tell someone she knew or loved who has died – it's not something she'll ever be able to do, and she can't afford to let thoughts like that take up too much of her mind.
Kanan's most immediate answer would be Master Billaba. Who has died, and… my personal opinions that Star Wars canon handling of Force ghosts is dumb aside, as far as he knows, he can't speak to her. But we've entertained the idea of doing a Conversations With Dead People thing for it.
And I think maybe after having spent enough time with Rex and the other decommissioned Clone troopers to have worked out his issues with them, he might like to entertain the idea of being able to speak with some of the Clone troopers he'd worked with, but. That's also not really possible.

Viv would like to speak to her twin brother, but that is not possible. Begrudgingly, she'd maybe sort of would like to speak with her mother as well (she has complex feelings about her mother...well, she would if she allowed herself to feel them), but again, not possible.
Danny would give much to speak with his mother or father...again, not possible without necromancy or a medium or Milliways....hhmmm Halloween and Conversations with dead people is coming up.
Sabine would love to speak with her brother or father again, except for that whole being an exile thing. She is still too angry at her mother to want to speak with her, but she needs to.

George would like to see his family again, and Simon, whom he thinks of as family. He's just starting to get to a place where he's really missing everyone from his life.
Eowyn would want to speak to her mother, to ask what to do about Theoden and Wormtongue.
Alec doesn't really have anybody. Everyone from his past is still in his life, and he talks to them on just about a daily basis.

Evelyn: Her parents, maybe, ask them what they thought about sending her to the Circle/if they think of her at all, with fondness, whatever. She could theoretically see or write to them, but...
Lois: "The girls in her seventh grade class who she taught poker to, see how many people they've fleeced." She totally could talk to them
R2: post-prequels, Anakin and Padme. He mostly can't (let's ignore the Anakin problem).
Anakin: His mom; later, Padme. And of course when he's all ghosty he mostly wants to talk to the twins and knows only one of those is a good idea because the other would find a way to end him a second time and he'd let her because he deserves it. Mostly he can't.
Tavi: His father. His grandfather. His aunts Alia and Cassea. His teacher, Killian. His late CMO, Foss. His baby cousins. Aquitaine. Alera. In all cases, he has questions, or unresolved grief, or stories he wants to share, or conversations he never finished, or advice he wants, or just desperately wanting back all the time that got taken from them all unfairly. He... really can't talk to any of them.

Kylo would like to have a conversation with his grandfather. Dead.
