I can’t even with the American government.

So tell me, what methods of self care do you or your pups use?

For me: music, definitely, and when I'm miserable seems to be when I find it easiest to come up with plots and story ideas. (I'm currently playing around with a Cold War AU in which the USSR manages to cut its territory off from the rest of the world by stopping time.)

I also find Lego incredibly soothing: it's something to completely immerse myself in, much like playing video games that are a good mix between needing concentration and not being so difficult that they become frustrating. I've found that the Lego games are very good for that. When I have enough free time, movies are my other escape - being in the cinema is much more immersive than watching a DVD, so I'll often take the day or evening to go to the cinema and see two or even three movies with a couple of drinks and snacks or tapas.

Also, for some reason, making DW accounts... so meet [personal profile] justatraveller.

Amascut breaks things or sets thing on fire and Fairy Fixit drinks. Those aren't healthy ways of dealing with stuff, obviously.

Fairy Fixit does also turn to carving, whittling, and scrimshaw sometimes, though.

For self-care, Sunshine prescribes a long, hot bubble bath, and twelve hours of sleep, followed by a lazy afternoon reading indulgent old horror/suspense fiction.
