I don't really do Halloween; it's not that much of a big deal here, although the imported-from-America stuff is getting bigger all the time, and I can't remember the last time we had trick-or-treaters turn up.

I've been doing Halloween decorating and bringing candy out at the library I work at. There's this tradition of putting up weekly questions on a whiteboard and last week it was; favorite spooky book and this week its favorite spooky movie. Since I'm feeling sick, I'll probably spend tomorrow taking the day off of work and resting.

In terms of my characters, I haven't had any ideas for conversations with the dead, but might do some costumes. I had fun making Cassian be a James Bond type spy or could put him in a more WWII outfit, probably a pilot's, wouldn't be that different from his current gear but still different.

The same as I have done for the last several years: dress as a friendly-but-still-spooky witch, sit on my parents' porch (my apartment complex does not get trick-or-treaters) with my spinning wheel and a nice mug of soup, and hand out candy and short stories/longish narrative poems. This year I've added "Marya Morevna" to the lineup; it has Baba Yaga and Koschei the Deathless! (I had to print it in 5-point font to get it to fit on a single sheet, though.)

I should probably bring Zecora in, she does enjoy Nightmare Night. ;-)

Mostly just doing my best to decorate the stairwell and the porch outside to make it clear to any trick-or-treaters that there's someone on the third floor giving out candy- I live in a third-floor walkup and the people on floors 1 and 2 don't seem to do Halloween. I try to make it fair to anyone who can make it all the way up by giving them extra candy for having made the effort.

I have this same problem. Earlier this month I signed up for Nextdoor, and discovered a trick or treat map. We’ll see how things go this year since I added myself to the map.

Sadly, I myself have no plans.

But I kind of want to have the Bar dress Emcee up as Freddie Mercury. Mustache and yellow jacket and all. And maybe have the evil karaoke machine kick in.

And I want Cassidy to end up dressed as Lestat again because it's too hilarious.

I’ve got the decorations out, though I never had the chance to go get the batteries I need for some of the lights. We’ve got cases of king size Snickers, Twix, and KitKats, and I just need to paint my mask white and I’m ready to go.

Incidentally, why are skeleton masks that aren’t horrific so hard to find? The only mask I found suitable for a cheap Sans costume was a sugar skull mask.

I have no plans myself, but I've been binging American Horror Story, so I'll probably continue that as it's thematically appropriate.

I think George is going to be a bonafide Shadowhunter for the holiday. (So if anyone wants to play with runes, hmu.)

I have no plans for the others, but if anyone has suggestions for Alec, Orpheus, or Eowyn, lemme know.
