Sub-DE: The voice inside my head

I'm tempted to do a fic prompt topic, but I want to save that for tomorrow...how about what character, that you haven't played in bar, keeps bugging you? What's holding you back from apping them? Is it time? Aw heck, why not list the character and see if anyone has a prompt for you to play with?

I've got two. Spider Jerusalem, from Transmetropolitan, and the AI Durandal, from Marathon. Honestly, I'm not sure what's holding me back. But I'd quite like to see how their headvoices sound.

Fire away.

"You want the Truth? Let me tell you something about the Truth!"

He punches the man, the sandbagging asshole, square in the face. Guy goes down, like the proverbial bag of shit. Spider follows up with a pair of steel-toed kicks to whatever passes for this particular degenerate's genitals.

"The Truth hurts. The Truth is painful. It is a revelationary thing, the Truth, and I am the conduit through which that pain flows!"

More kicks, this time to the face. Something cracks. He thinks it's a nose. Hard to tell.

"I am Truth's avatar in the scum-sucking realm, and with it's power I can vanquish all enemies who fucking dare stand before me! You are nothing compared to the might of Truth!"

He leans down, the camerashades slipping down the bridge of his nose. Eyes made bloodshot, wide and crazy by uppers peer over the frames.

"So tell me, you little cocksucker. Tell me your Truth. And don't lie to me. I know when you lie. I always know."

Thank you! I'm not quite sure if I got the voice right, but I'll keep working on it.
configuration_birdwatcher: Ganymede dropping a stick on Bastion's gun arm (i brought you something)

There might be small details of cadence or word choice that slipped past me, but it sounded authentic on my end.

The Shadow King from the first season of Legion. What an amazing villain! who was completely defanged one season later. I'm not looking forward to season 3.

Nah, it's okay. I should be working.
configuration_birdwatcher: In-game spray art of Bastion carrying a ludicrous quantity of food. They've swapped their legs for tank treads and a bowl of noodles balances precariously on the end of their gun arm. (bast-yum)

I've wanted to play Wilson from Don't Starve for about as long as Bastion, maybe longer -- I know I have his voice, I've played him before in different settings and on other platforms -- but until recently I thought he wasn't feasible here because he'd refuse to go back to his canon (which I didn't want him to do, although I've seen a couple other characters do it so I know it's an option here).

However, I later had the idea of bringing him in from the Don't Starve Together timeline, where he meets the other canon characters and then after surviving together for a while is forced into various group challenges in the Forge and the Gorge seasonal events. It wouldn't even necessarily screw with the balance of his canon's game mechanics for him to be able to trade with the bar or the other patrons instead of living off the land in The Constant, if I got him stuck in a cycle of getting Bound and getting locked out of the bar.

Right now the Forge is back in season, so he's especially loud and it's very easy to imagine him getting dumped into the bar between Forge matches even though I was planning to start at an earlier canon point. (Forge matches canonically end when everyone on your team is dead and your enemies take this as their cue to try and seize the Nightmare Throne, but I could fudge that. Death is often temporary in Don't Starve.) But I'd probably need to get a PB for him and I don't know any satisfactory ones off the top of my head since he has a wacky hairstyle, and I'd have to actually do some research about life in the early 1920s instead of bullshitting it like I've done in settings where there's fewer opportunities for him to talk about himself, none of which are insurmountable problems but I still haven't debuted the last character I apped and I should at least wait until I have more brain cells to devote to Milliways, since at this precise moment I can play about .5 of a character. (Although holding off a few months might work well because the friend I've been periodically trying to tempt into apping WX-78 might be available then.)

I keep coming back from George, Duke of Kent and portrayed in Upstairs Downstairs but I never quite get him as far as apping.
