Hey there Folks,
I don't know if you know this, or if you're like me and have been bombarded by mentions of this already, but it's Giving Tuesday today.
A day when the marketing departments of various Non-Profits ask folks to set aside a little bit of their personal scratch for a good cause.

Sadly we here at Milliways don't really have a marketing department, so you're stuck with me...and this rather blatant shilling for our game.
Our Paid Premium subscription is about to expire, and so I'm reaching out to you dear players for help in covering the tab.

I want to make it absolutely clear, that this is a request for donations only. 
We're not charging people to play.
We're not requiring anyone to contribute. 

But if you happen to have some extra of the aforementioned personal scratch sitting around, consider contributing to Milliways_Bar.
A minimum DreamWidth point purchase is $3 (30 points), and a paid premium account is 250 points/6 months or 500 points/12. 
A little can help a lot.

Question, and I could just be being clueless, but I try and buy some points for milliways-bar com and I get an error saying "You can only transfer or buy points for a personal journal."

Do I need to do my shopping from a paid account, or is it something else?

And I'm realizing that I might have accidentally gifted the Mods account instead of the Bar. Hopefully if I did, then they can be used properly.

I think they can likely transfer the points if worse comes to worse.

OK. Well I was able to get to a link that seemed like it was goign to let me buy paid time, but it wouldn't go through cause the comm is currently a paid account. Couldn't find an option to buy points.

So not helpful. Sorry.

I think, that when it comes to points, what needs to happen is you have to buy them for yourself, and then you can transfer them to others.

I'd like to help and I can afford to make a small donation in the abstract but Dreamwidth doesn't take PayPal and I don't have an actual credit card so it's a pain in the ass just to maintain my own paid time. Alas.

The only way I could find was to directly gift premium paid account time (regular paid account time doesn't work as the bar is premium). It doesn't look like point donation is allowed.
