Thursday DE - The Great Debate

What is your character’s opinion of pineapple on pizza?

If your canon doesn’t apply, what similar debate does, and where does your character stand?

According to lead developer Jeff Kaplan, the only thing every single Overwatch hero has in common is that they like pineapple on pizza. I suppose Bastion likes the aesthetic of little yellow fruit pieces on a pizza, since it's not like they can eat it.

Fallen London takes place in a time period when pizza hadn't really left Italy and pineapples were too expensive for anyone except the super-rich to dice up and use as a topping even in Surface England, never mind the Neath. So Thurlow's never had anything particularly similar to that. The most divisive snack topic I can think of in canon is about authentic Rubbery Lumps; they're made out of battered and fried sea monsters, but the taste changes dramatically depending on the source of the water used in the process and the rituals performed thereupon. Some people say the only proper Rubbery Lumps are the ones made on Mutton Island. Thurlow themself doesn't much care and will eat most things.

I'm not sure whether Alternia has ordinary pineapples (they do have several recognisable Earth fruits judging by Terezi's nicknames for colours, so it's fairly likely) or some other, much deadlier sweet-acidic spiky fruit, but either way, Cirava and Aradia seem like they'd both enjoy it.

Wilson would probably have had the chance to eat pizza before he got stuck in another dimension if he went into the city and found a pizzeria, since there were a few of them in New England at the time, but I'm not sure if he would have actually done so. It's possible to make pizza in-game, but only during the Gorge event, not in regular gameplay. He wouldn't ask for pineapple and he might be confused if someone else ordered it, but he wouldn't object.

Enzo thinks that it's fine, depending what else it's in combination with, and that he can find much better things to argue about.

Cecil doesnt have any complaints, but ever since the wheat and wheat byproduct ban, pizza at Big Ricos has been awkward in general.

Pineapples do exist on Azeroth. Pineapple pizza is also an in game item (though how much that resembles Earth pizza is up for debate as tomatoes aren't a thing as far as I know). Eating a pineapple pizza "Restores no health, and reduces Stamina by 5% for 30 sec" and has the flavor text "Just terrible." So Khadgar is in the camp that pineapple doesn't belong on pizza.

Per Cameo above, Gabe approves of pineapple on pizza. Didn't know!
configuration_birdwatcher: In-game spray art of Bastion carrying a ludicrous quantity of food. They've swapped their legs for tank treads and a bowl of noodles balances precariously on the end of their gun arm. (bast-yum)

It was in a video where he answered questions from Twitter, if that helps.
