I agree strongly. Sometimes you don't even have to lift a finger to wreck shit when your parents are already train wrecks waiting to happen.

All you have to do is stop trying to fix things, sometimes.

How do you introduce yourself as a representative of a military order with very specific standards and principles without causing people who apparently have some kind of weird creepy shadowy conspiracy organization in their lives to decide that you're about to kick down their doors and announce that the conspiracy is coming out of the shadows with guns instead of secret androids?

That might actually work; on the other hand, you might go for one that is thin, straight, and easily hidden. There is a chance, though, that you won't need the weapon.

Why not send them a hand-written letter telling them where and when to turn up?

While a hand-written note would be romantic thoughtful, the ban on writing implements is still in place. I don't particularly mind re-education, but I imagine it would take a lot of time away from doing Science, and... well. He might not appreciate that.

I... suppose that entirely depends on what the invitation is engraved in. Any suggestions? I have been told hearts are inappropriate.

If I may butt in, I recommend teeth. Hearts are too squishy and messy and you have to keep them frozen. No such trouble with teeth!

You'd have to find quite a large tooth. Or one per individual letter, possibly, and a foundation or carrying-case to keep them in order.

What I had in mind was a metal plate, by the way, but if teeth are easier to obtain then by all means use teeth.

You can love him if you want to, even if he is generally regarded an evil person; but you're free not to love him even if he's not conventionally evil. Love isn't a moral choice.
