Er... Oops? And a question or two.

Pending KARR-mun's rather backdated permission, PeeJee's notes may be edited at any time. I don't doubt she'll be okay with it-- I know we've discussed canon puncturing before, though I can't find my saved log and I cannot remember the context for the life of me. But I recall she thought of it as both interesting and a character-building exercise. I will ask her at my earliest convenience.

If PeeJee ends up having to rewrite her letter to security, she will, and she has no trouble looking for geeks 'back home'-- she knows a number, she was just hoping to not have to leave Milliways much. The only difference in the security letter will be that she'll edit any references to Kitt and KARR being from a TV show... and she only included that because she thought it might be pertinent information. The guy who popped her canon cherry is on the security staff, so ICly it was a reasonable conclusion to make (that I will fix if it's requested).

ETA: This has been fixed, thank you Muffinbutt. The notes in question are being deleted; PeeJee will give security a new note with the one canon-popping reference deleted. Because they should know anyway.

My question, though, is along the lines of protocol.

Um... Kitt's mun had tacitly approved of canon puncturing before it happened... And Karr joined after a Very Small amount of air had been let out of the Canon Balloon (and immediately taped over, as Kitt's canon has never been mentioned in his presence). What happens in that case, when the only character(s) from a canon have been punctured (as in Aubrey and PeeJee's case; they know somewhere they're someone's webcomic) or lightly pricked (as in Kitt's-- he has no idea, but some of his friends do)-- and then a new character from that canon joins? Until yesterday, Kitt was the only Knight Rider character in Milliways... But this sort of applies to every fandom. ETA: This too is mainly resolved. I will edit again to say how it was resolved when I'm awake enough to do so clearly.

And here's yet another weirdie... Asar-Suti has asked PeeJee, completely ICly, to canon puntcure him. PeeJee said she would, although the obvious solution if the rest of the muns involved don't agree is to say that she couldn't find any references, so Asar-Suti's canon isn't fiction in her world. That wouldn't be particularly difficult, either, as I have zero familiarity with Asar-Suti's canon, and all he suspects so far is that he's from a 'high fantasy' world. But what do you do in a situation like that? (This one is particularly incestuous. PeeJee is friends with Asar-Suti who is in love with Lochiel who is Brennan's son who is (one of) Kestrel's fiances whose panties PeeJee's friend Davan sold on eBay because his cat Choo-Choo Bear picked them up from Kestrel's cat Zot in exchange for Andes mints. The only character in that daisy-chain not in Milliways is Davan.)

ETA: That paragraph I'm not striking, because in my sleepdep state, it amuses me.

However. Sometime I need to talk to all the Knight Rider muns (which I think at this point is just Kitt and Karr), all the Something Positive muns (Aubrey, Choo-Choo, and PeeJee, who is me), by extension any Queen of Wands pups (Kestrel, and wasn't there an Angela?), and all the ... *watches spelling carefully* Cheysuli muns (I do not know who all of you are) for discussions of how popped canon cherries are allowed to be.

ETA, second go: Aubreymun has given me a popping okay. This is going to be my most edited post ever.

ETA, third time's the charm: Kestrelmun is trying to make universes line up; I do not fully comprehend her plan but expect to when the plan is fully formed. Therefore, Suti's canon popping is on hold until something makes sense in the world of online comics and universal conglomerations. Sorry, Suti. PeeJee will seek but not find until things are cleared up.

ETA, four calling birds: KARRmun is fine with it if Knight Rider is a TV show where PeeJee, Aubrey, and Kestrel come from. Angela's mun, below, has said she doesn't mind as long as she's kept informed, because Angela's not often in Milliways. Kitt's mun has given approval. Now I just need the cat.

Forgive me if this is a little unclear. Ask me what I mean and I'll try to clarify.

Is there a way to do it by saying there are books about the person but they aren't neccessarily fiction? I know one of the characters in the bar (can't remember who) plays off of having seen Buffy, The Vampire Slayer on TV and goes on it being about the true events of the characters. If Milliways exists and there is this meeting of people's at the end of the universe, who's to say Milliways which has been there for who knows how long, hasn't allowed people to go back to their worlds with information on people at the bar to be used for the purpose of creating fiction? That's how I'd approach it. When Isabel was told by Valentine that Luke Skywalker was her boyfriend she asked if the character in the movie was a true portrayal or not. But yeah...that's my babble.

Wait, what?

I just read this post like four times, and I have no idea what's going on.

Ping me or another mod asap so things become less obscure.

OMG have we ever opened a can of wiggly little thinggies...

Asar-Suti was actually looking for someone to agree that he's fictional to some worlds because of his theory; reading his own canon is entirely optional.

So I'm totally all right if PeeJee can't find the Cheysuli books themselves; what she told him was really all he needed. There is so much High Fantasy out there, anyway. It's lots of fun already to know he can use the term now in dialogue, not just I in 'omniscient narrator perspective' narration about him.

In a different but related vein, Richard recently read Anne Rice's vampire novels...

Yes, but those are canon even in the VC world - just, in those, Lestat dictated them. So it isn't quite the same thing. They exist in more worlds than just the Vampire Chronicle worlds, as per Kestrel's getting stuck in Denver for six weeks - but in that world, the books exist, so it wasn't a surprise to the characters.

Yo. I'm Angela-mun. I'll be away for the weekend, but whatever works for Angela. Just... let me know what's going on. She doesn't come in an awful lot, so yeah. I'm cool.

Making a request on behalf of Brennan, Lochiel and Tye - don't puncture my boys, please. I'm really not bothered if anyone else from the Cheysuli world gets punctured, but my three would not deal with it very well. Brennan and Lochiel especially.

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 05:34 am (UTC)(link)
Well, to be fair, I'm not saying no altogether, just no to puncturing my boys. We'd have to work the details with Maru and the others, of course.

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 05:38 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. Keep me posted, please?

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 05:41 am (UTC)(link)
*hugs*

Is okay, love. We'll help out as much as we can :)

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 05:55 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, it's okay. The whole canon-puncturing thing confuses me, so I just stay the hell away from it. Not to mention my pups are from fairly obscure canons, with the exception of Gawain.

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
He would, yes. Since, well, one of the Knights of Camelot, and all. None of the others, though, even Brennan, who as the Prince could expect *some* sort of notoriety.

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Few people do have knowledge of the Cheysuli canon, woe. I'ts like... four? Maybe five?

*now has images of Gawain as a rock star, and is skeered*

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Well, who doesn't like purple?

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 06:22 am (UTC)(link)
Ye-es, having purple hair around Brennan and Lochiel, not such a good thing...

[identity profile] blackcatbrennan.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I know it's her default dye. I am just amused by it.

[identity profile] owned-by-zot.livejournal.com 2005-01-01 07:28 pm (UTC)(link)
*looks at you*

... See, this is why we actually DO need to do a reaction thread to Kestrel's new purple hair...
