Talk about features that make your characters' worlds unique, weird or special -- even if they aren't overtly alien or magical worlds with vampires or strange fauna funnily like our own. Some features will stick out.

Ignoring the obvious

Technology is a little more advanced. As you do IRL, you tend to see more advanced tech in the military and similar. There's nothing overtly futuristic about it; an average person going to their world from the same era would probably never see the differences in person. But the advanced weapons tech and the moon/orbital space bases etc are definitely a thing.

This is a real person. And he's related to Sinthia.

That kind of sums it up.

Star Wars is a little unusual in that it's an alternate universe with theoretically no connection to the real world, and is technologically advanced without being futuristic. But it's also not that alien (as in literally, most major characters are human), and generally runs this line of being just unfamiliar enough to be distinct, but also pretty easily accessible.

Which basically means if you're a nerd you can spend a lot of time thinking 'does this thing exist in Star Wars and if it does is it just called its real world name or does it have a silly Star Wars name.'

The worlds Amascut and Fairy Fixit come from are standard fantasy fare; sure, there is magic with its own unique set of quirks and consequences, fantasy rpg races with their own unique twists, screwy economy because of magic and game mechanics/narrative convenience... plus a little Lovecraftian horror thrown in.

But I suppose the most unique aspect is the Mahjarrat. Think semi-divine alien space wizard warriors that look kinda like liches but are inherently capable of shapeshifting. They are almost like the Gems from the Steven Universe canon, except that they do present as both male and female and they don't retreat into their gemstones, as far as I know anyhow. And they do, in fact, have gemstones, but they are always located on their foreheads.

Also, there are no horses. Absolutely no horses. Unicorns, yes, and pegasi, but horses do not exist. There are hints that the 'hornless unicorns' were hunted to extinction, though.

Bastion's from the future. A future full of robots, both killer and otherwise. There's some other fairly substantial technological advancements too, like hard-light objects and gravity alteration.
