Monday DE: Puttin’ On the Ritz
Your character(s) have to go to a gala event, either in canon or in bar. How screwed are they? Do they have anything to wear? Do they need someone to help them pick out a proper thing to wear? Are they the person to go to if you need help in this instance?

Rose is screwed and will wonder why she's there to begin with.
Kylo doesn't gala.
Creed would rather not go, but if he has to, he cleans up pretty well and will behave. Just enough.

Is she above assigning Kanan to pose as a guest so he'll have to dress up? ......nnnnnnnnnnope. I know at one point we were imagining this scenario with Sabine assigned to be in charge of fashion choices.

If anyone at the gala tries to talk to him, he will get an attack of nerves and successfully manage to alienate, intimidate, or piss them off in three seconds flat, and he'll want to leave as soon as humanly possible, but so long as nobody attempts any actual human interaction with him he can be relied upon to look aloof and elegant and possibly vaguely mysterious.

Lois actually cleans up nicely but has nooo idea yet how to do this beyond, like, showering and brushing her hair. She would definitely run to her friend Maddie and ask for help/a shopping trip. She is not screwed but still has a lot to learn. DO NOT ask her for fashion advice. She may strike gold, or she may strike something else.
Evelyn does have some idea of how the rules of this work, but while in the Mage Circle she's mostly screwed/probably has robes provided for her with no choice. Later on, of course, this is all Josie's thing. She'll give her self-declared dubious advice but prefers to avoid this sort of thing (and then falls into politics, whoops).
R2-D2 appreciates shindigs because it usually means he gets an oil bath and maybe a tune-up. Do not ask him for fashion advice, he may give it. Also, he can and will serve drinks and also eavesdrop, record shit, and smuggle in weapons. He's just fine. (He appreciates events that require him to have a temporary paint job less.)
Anakin basically hates these upper class shindigs but knows how to act. Luckily, being a Jedi and at war, he doesn't have to think too hard about what to wear and also can shelter behind that as a reason not to be in something fancy. He does not entirely understand Padme's fondness for fashion as a weapon but absolutely will give his thoughts and advice (and if someone explained the various messages sent... well, he might think it's a waste of money, but he definitely knows how to send coded messages).
Vader hates everything about this (especially the memories, worse if that blasted Princess of Alderaan is in the room reminding him of Padme except even more tart) but does what his Master tells him. Don't ask his advice. He will give it. It will be unpleasant.
Tavi has other people (Marcus, actually, come to think of it) to pick out clothes for him these days and is definitely not screwed. Some he's good with, some he's like fiiiine I'll get through another of these, but it's just a routine part of the job now so, like. Meh. At least he's not the one having to pick what he wears for the most part, unless he's got a reason to go "Heeeey pick the most military-uniform looking thing available, I need to make a point" or "Something more relaxed, I want to avoid reminding people most of my history is as a general right now." Or, like, "little older style to forcibly remind people of my dad," which is a very rare button for him to push for Reasons but it happens. Tavi is not who you ask for dressing advice. Really. Don't.

Sam... lol, no. He knows all the etiquette but will do almost anything to remain scruffy. He's not really into the whole 'conforming' thing.
Molly is also not impressed at the concept of formalwear. AdultMoll, back in the day, would have gone to one of her sisters - probably Nico, who's a goddess of design - for assistance, or if unavailable to Black Widow or Jan van Dyne.

Cassie is ABSOLUTELY the one you want to go to for advice. She should be your first stop, really. Even at military functions, she can show up the whole party despite wearing the same outfit as everybody else.
Ecco doesn't really understand what humans' deal is with the whole "formality" thing. Or the "fancy clothes" thing. Or the "clothes" thing in general. Can't we just rub flippers and play with some seaweed?

Asking her for advice maybe a bad idea if she isn't interested in getting you to climb the social ladder but it isn't like dressing poorly will kill you. She won't give you horrible advice. Most of the time, anyhow.
Fairy Fixit is pretty bad at dressing herself. But, she can learn.

Quentin knows so much about formal events, that's part of his training and he does kind of enjoy them. Since he knows Toby, he's always waiting for something to go wrong but they're an environment he likes.
Charles used to enjoy them more, he likes looking elegant and following the various conversations and interactions. Now that he's in his chair, they've become complicated in different ways and he doesn't feel as comfortable. Though I think he'd like to help someone get ready for one.
Sameth doesn't really like them, since he's never felt good at being a prince and has a tendency to be awkward. He knows how to act and dress but compared to his sister, he's not at ease.
Moist loves big galas, so many rich people and he's good at blending in and looking just the right way.
Demeter has never liked very formal occasions, they're not her style but she knows how to draw every eye to her if need be.
Will S. has some training in formal events due to first being Robin's squire and now one of his stewards but he's always aware that this isn't the world he came from.
William would feel incredibly out of place.
Tumnus has grown to like them, because galas usually mean visitors from somewhere interesting. Sometimes he'll feel shy but Lucy will be there asking him questions.

Ganymede is not screwed at all in this endeavor. He knows what to wear to quite a number of different events and he can make most of it look very good! He just may not enjoy dressing up for parties if he finds the people boring.
Sinthia...as a child is pretty malleable with what she'll wear as long as it's black. As an adult is real screwed trying to pick out clothes herself. Not one of her skills.

Bastion is absolutely baffled to receive the invitation, especially if it's in their canon rather than in Bar. (The only way I can see the former happening is if the Petras Act was repealed and Overwatch threw an official relaunch party. It's not like a Bastion unit can interact undercover at a fancy ball, even somewhere with a large omnic population like Numbani or Paris. Even if they presented themself as a bodyguard they'd draw way too much attention.) In the bar they have the option to ask Bar to reapply that shiny red and gold paint job she gave them last Lunar New Year, by way of dressing up; doing that in their world would be an expensive, fiddly process. Otherwise they're just going to get a thorough cleaning and maybe put on a nice hat. They know nothing about formal etiquette, but might be able to avoid embarrassing themself using their default level of politeness.
Dr Thurlow knows exactly what to do. Persuasive is their second highest stat!
Aradia never learned how to act at a formal event but she's not going to let that stop her. (What interests her is the party aspect; she doesn't much care for the trappings of the upper classes.) Clotheswise she's just going to ask Kanaya what to wear, and Kanaya can probably whip up something nice.
Cirava is out of their element, and has nothing in their closet that fits the dress code. They might not be completely screwed if they have some warning about what's expected of them and can borrow some formalwear, but it's not going to be seamless.
