Oh, Amascut is pretty far into the Xanatos Gambit end of the spectrum. But with her it is much less making the hero choose between horrible outcomes and more like every outcome is good to ok for her, and "defeating" her plans doesn't really acheive anything. It helps to be a goddess of the dead and all the centuries of work she put in to make sure that murder, honor killings, vendettas, and war remain acceptable ways to solve problems. Even minor problems. She benefits from every death in at least a small way and the hero is a murderous bastard and everyone loves them for it.
Hell, her first known major exploit was to co-found the first order of Slayer Masters to defend her country from an influx of demons from the north. Even when the rest of the cofounders discovered she was a goddess in disguise and was using their monster slaying to gain power and subsequently disbanded, the world was so in need of their skills that they continued and carried the knowledge to the rest of the world. They kept in contact as well, with Amascut still being able to infiltrate now and then to continue to teach generations of slayers and censor inconvenient information and history.
Fairy Fixit isn't such a plotter. She does plan out things and comes up with procedures to prevent future trouble, but it's not like things become error free and fail proof just because she works with them. She knows what can go wrong with the tech she works with and knows what still needs fixing, and can exploit that for situations that may arise. So some flying by the seat of her pants, but only in cases where she has plausible deniability.
