What sort of AU would you like to see written, or write yourself, for your pup?

Or is there an AU you’ve already seen/read that you’d like to tell us about?

I just want my boy to be happy. Right now there's three AUs I check daily for updates, though I think one is done, tragically (all the stories are finished, I just want more, 'cause... yes.)

No One Gets Left Behind (Or Forgotten) by AliNear - the 173rd always protects their own. Timey-Wimey ghost hijinks! And because I'm a sucker for it, there's plenty of pain to go around despite this being a much happier timeline.

A Friend of Mine by ObliqueOptimism - The apocalypse is averted because of the 173rd. ... Why yes, I am a sucker for fics involving the 173rd! :D No ghosts (at least not as main characters, I mean, lots of ghosts otherwise, it's Klaus) this time.

on some days, in some ways by pprfaith - In which the kids save themselves. Tragic lack of the 173rd, but a really fun look at how close they were to getting it right. Shockingly, no one gets locked up to do it. *so, so dry*

I may or may not be slowly working on a Dave Lives AU...

Before Rogue One, I was never that much of an AU person but I want them all to be happy and alive and have time. I'll just link to my works page.

I have entire series that are basically everyone lives AUs and then a few that are more actually putting everyone in another setting AUs and so many works in progress. My current works in progress are an Ice Dancing AU where I feel like I have the characters down but the structures all over the place, a College AU, which I used for last year's AU week that's really a collection of prompt fills, an unusual one that's Cassian is a Michelin inspector, Jyn's a spy and they meet while working and she thinks he's a spy, and then my other new one that's only on Tumblr so far where their daughter leads the Resistance on Fest.

I'm always reading AUs that range from everyone/somebody lives to moved to other settings as that's a lot of what Rogue One fandom tends to write. As I'm at work, I might link to some later but little too sleepy today.

In terms of my other fandoms, I haven't written that many AUs. I did once write a fix-it AU for Becoming Jane. And some of my X-Men fics are kind of AUs because I ignore parts of canon that I don't like. I know there's a lot of Charles and Erik AU fic, but I've never read any of it. They only really work for me in their proper context.

I tend to like thinking about 'Here are what the characters would be like in another canon' AUs. For Yamato, I occasionally have a superhero AU percolating in the back of my head, where he is reluctantly forced to partner up with Taichi for superhero shenanigans.

Having just finished watching Gundam Build Fighters, I have the beginnings of a Digimon Gundam AU that will never, ever get written brewing in my head somewhere.

I have so many Homestuck AUs of other canons.

I haven't read enough Homestuck to have Homestuck AUs, but it strikes me as being one of those canons which is very easily adaptable to be used as an AU for just about anything.

I don't believe I've ever seen a single AU in my fandom.

In fact, I think I've read about three fics total that I've actually enjoyed. D:

Back when I was playing Emcee and Herman in a Cabaret-influenced RP, I had always imagined Emcee sacrificing himself to protect the Klub and all his boys and girls during a raid. He would give himself up if the others were let go, because it was only him they wanted. We never got that far in playing out the story, and it's probably best that we didn't, but I still think about it a lot.

That sounds like something he would do along with being hugely depressing.

I try to avoid Runescape fic because often, it is a fic-writers first attempt at fic before they move onto other canons. It's not completely horrible, but unfortunately as a fic author's writing matures, the peicemeal way long lived video games, series or otherwise, construct their canon drives fic writers to something more... consistent? And oh god, Runescape is ancient. Canon is a mess if you stare at it too hard.

That said, an idea that has been stuck in my head for the longest time is speculative fic about what Gielinor would be like after another long period of peace without interference from the gods. After 2000 or so years, society already recovered from near total collapse because of millennia of religious wars instigated by the gods themselves to something like a late renaissance/early enlightenment level of development.

What would happen after another 1000 years, after a brief (and successful) war against the gods? With all the magi-tech that would probably have been developed, it is likely there is some space travel happening. But then Amascut turns up again after an awful industrial disaster and something akin to American Gods happens as she finds out shes not to only god still remaining on the planet.

Way too ambitious to ever be written, lol.
