Your character's parents are visiting them! How does that go? Does your character clean the house and host them, or do the 'rents (however many in number) stay elsewhere? Could also be in-laws or emotional figures if birth ones are unavailable.

Brought to you by floors that are swept for once.

Celine: Any other time? Great! It was probably expected. Right now: oh god please no, she does not want to hear whatever has to be said about the circumstances of her divorce.

Nichola: She’s probably surprised they made time to travel all the way to the other side of the country, and feels a little bad about working 30 hours a day and never being home. But they’ll probably find something to do.

Wilford: heh. After the last time, murder might actually be on the agenda. They’ll stay away if they know what’s best.

This depends entirely on which parent is visiting.

If it's his father, Hiroaki (and assuming Yamato is living on his own at this point, for the purposes of the question), Yamato will toss some cushions and a duvet on the couch and he can sleep there. It's unlikely to be any longer than a night, and Hiroaki will most likely be there because he's in the area for work reasons and it's a convenient place to stay, so the two will just casually occupy the same space and go through their individual routines around each other.

If Yamato's over twenty at this point, they'll probably go out drinking together at a bar, during which there will be a lot of silence that's halfway between 'companionable' and 'we never learned how to actually talk to each other.'

If it's his mother, Natsuko, she's probably visiting with Takeru, and it was probably Takeru's idea in the first place -- and it's entirely possible that Yamato won't have been warned beforehand.

Yamato will be awkward. Natsuko will also be very awkward. Takeru will cheerfully bulldoze any objections and make sure Yamato hosts both of them at his place, and will conspire for the three of them to do Fun Family Activities. When all is said and done, both Yamato and Natsuko will probably be pretty happy about it, and will maybe even awkwardly admit as much.

Yamato won't clean up in advance. He's already fastidiously neat and tidy with his living spaces, so it'll already be guest-ready.

Ahsoka (assuming padawan age) frantically cleans up her room. I know the Jedi live a monastic life, but she is still a teenager and they create their own chaos fields.

Sabine lives with her surrogate parents but she tends to keep a pretty clean room. Cluttered but clean. She just strikes me as that type of person. If her actual parents were to visit, she'd be more keyed up. If it's mom, she's double checking the status of her weapons work area. If it's her dad, she's looking over her art to see if anything needs a touch-up.

Danny looks off in the distance with a man tear rolling down his cheek. Sorry, the real answer, he's sweeping the fuck out of his cell cause Lei Kung is coming unannounced.

I can't think of anyone who is a surrogate parent for Jess. Maybe Captain America? It doesn't parse, though.

Tess'parents are dead. All four of them.

Rose's parents are dead.

If Leia came to visit, Kylo would sit and brood while she lectured him.

Creed's parents are dead.

Amascut uhhh... I think any visit by her parents would be extremely unwelcome. Her mother seems extremely absent and would likely be yelled at for it until she became absent again. As for her father, well, he "died" and she's actively making sure he stays dead. She was close to him once, but he was on the harsh and unforgiving side.

She loves the warmth of the sun but hates the unrelenting heat. Solar deities. Pfft

Haha, hahahahaha, if Reggie Hargreeves is visiting Klaus shot is going down. ... Pretty sure it wouldn't be something Klaus would survive, no.

It would definitely cause some familial drama if the omnium came to visit Bastion. Also some logistical difficulties regarding where a giant autonomous factory would stay for the weekend. (It's not a problem if the parental figure is Torbjörn instead though, because he also lives at the Watchpoint for work.)

Wilson does not want his parents following him into the Constant for a myriad of reasons, but if they insist on coming anyway, they'll get a tent and like it. Because the survivors don't have the infrastructure for anything else, although the Hamlet city way off on their own floaty island can provide building materials for actual houses. Pre-canon, he'd make a valiant but probably doomed attempt to clean his house and wipe out the huge mushroom infestation in his bathroom, and his parents would take one look at the place even post-cleaning and go find the nearest hotel. I don't think it would set a good tone for the rest of the visit.

Thurlow is fortunate enough to have the deeds to several lodgings, so they can put their parents up somewhere they don't spend much time in. Problem solved! Of course, visiting with Mr and Mrs Thurlow is still going to be the most irritating experience of their entire year, but at least they don't have to give up their own space for it.

Aradia's lusus is dead. Cirava's might be, since all we see of them canonically is a huge wasp nest. Trolls aren't universally parted from their lusii as adults, although on a spaceship it may not be practical for them to live in the same room or suite anymore, and some lusii are just too goddamn huge to take into space. (Gamzee's and Vriska's probably wouldn't have been allowed to come due to size and orneriness, for instance, and Feferi's is too big but also required to remain on-planet anyway.) I imagine highbloods are given more leeway on keeping large cranky lusii, but only up to a point. If we instead look at their Ancestors, Cirava's is an unknown; Aradia's is basically the Alternian Satan figure, so the Demoness dropping by for a visit would be a bad time.

Gaster's parents are dead, but if they did somehow show up, they'd probably tell him that they their deaths weren't his fault, and they're proud of him.

If Urania's mother visited, she'd be surprised to se Mnemosyne out of the Underworld, but would welcome her all the same, have drinks and a nice chat. If it was Zeus, she'd be trying very hard to impress him and keep him happy, and hope he leaves soon without incident.

As for Phoenix...honestly, I'm don't even think Capcom knows who his parents are. XD
