Monday DE: You'll Fall For Anything If There's Nothing You'll Stand For
UGH WHAT A MONDAY.
Sorry for running late, everyone! This has been an extremely Monday Monday and I am only now getting to sit down for five minutes (and eat my first meal of the day) at... uh, 3:30. Le sigh.
ANYWAY.
It's been said that Captain America will always get back up because it's the right thing to do, while Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) will always get back up because 'f*ck you'.
So my question to you is: when your pup is knocked down (literally or metaphorically), what makes them get back up again?

ANYWAY.
Sam - a combination of stubbornness/contrariness and relentless optimism. Also, a distressing tendency to White Knight that he really wishes he could shake.
McGonagall - she's a Gryffindor. That's generally considered explanation enough. (But also - while her students need her, including ex-students, she'll never stay down.)
War - she's powered by the minds and wants of humanity. While humans dream of war, she'll never stay away.
Poe - sheer bloodymindedness, honestly. That and he genuinely believes in what he's doing, and as such the war is bigger than one person.
BB-8 - to fulfil his programming. (Also because Poe would never cope without him.)
Molly - because other people need her. Because she'll spend her whole life being everything her parents weren't. Because she found some videos her parents recorded once, of themselves toying with a victim, and - once she'd stopped throwing up - she knew that whatever she does, it will never be enough. There will always be one more person. Because other people need her. She's taken Captain Carrot's saying 'personal is not the same as important' and turned it into 'if it's important, then it's personal'. She wouldn't stop even if she lost all her powers tomorrow. Because that's the gig, and she knew that was the gig when she took it. Because she believes that if you can do what other people can't, it's your duty to do it. Because other people need her.
