Monday DE: We're All Works In Progress

Goooooood Monday, nerds!

For once I don't have a pre-prepared DE today, but I did spend a large chunk of my weekend attempting to get some fic done and failing through a total inability to concentrate.

So, tell me about your Works In Progress (WIPs)! Are you working on OOMs, plot, pre-Milliways stories? Or feel free to tell me about the slowtimed threads you're enjoying working through.

I've things sitting on the burners of my brain and I've even outlined some of them in Google docs.

Hank's walkabout I still need to get writing on. I finally have an idea of what he does, so it's just finding the time. Mostly I mean for him to spend some time with a carnival and then working/traveling as a migrant worker.

Tybalt I have a loose outline of an epilogue to "Ashes of Honor" to recap events of the book I haven't written and then have him look forward to the future, as well as him and Raj making peace.

With Jess, I just need to have her come in with some case files to get her started on the first story arc of her recent comic run.

And then I've got my necromancer/demonologist mystery romance and a Leverage style superhero prose story that's trying to form while I think on other stories. So rude.

I have like half a Wilson EP and two-thirds of a Bastion EP and have not had a convenient time to either finish or post them.

Work-related, since this is why I'm such a flake.

Toothless - This one goes so slowly, because the red fabric is just an insta migraine. I've got about half of it left to go, and probably several more months because of how hard it is to work on.

Iron-on patch - I'm almost done with this one, and hope to get the stitching done today. This one's under deadline, and needs to be done by Wednesday. I had a glitter accident in my work room, and now this is covered in craft herpes and that's never going away. Whoops.

Badge - I'm doing this one with "satin" floss (it's secretly rayon), and that's going to drive me nuts. There's not much to this one because I've been favouring the one under a closer deadline. This one's also under deadline, but not until August 31st.

Another badge - Probably NSFW due to accidental penis. I didn't notice that was in the chart until I started working on it. uhm. Whoops? It's a shadow or something that will go away when I get further into it. Not under any deadline at all, so it's taken a back seat.

There's a bunch more of these, but they're all personal projects. These are just the ones I'm doing for other people.

On a more fandom-related note, I'm one chapter away from finishing a fic I started in like, 2013. The final chapter is not living up to my expectations, and so it is languishing.

I started an impossible project of writing an at least 1000 word fic for every female Star Wars character. Except not, because that would be impossible, but also basically. And following through the strict alphabetical order I've arbitrarily imposed on myself, I've so far written stories for Aayla Secura, Ackmena (a cantina bartender Bea Arthur played in the dreaded Holiday Special who is Technically Canon Again), Adi Gallia, and Armitage Hux's mother (if they're unnamed I get to make the name up).

Which means I'm currently writing a fic for Ahsoka Tano. Will I ever get out of the As? ... um.

I'm also sort of working on rewriting some Hera-Kanan threads into fics. Which may eventually be in a series of fics that's basically just 'Hera talks to people' but you know, whatever.


Game-wise I will hopefully get my brain together to do more OOMs and getting characters through more canon. ... and there is technically an AU-um-we-can-do-that-better thread going on, but we're being kind of slow about it.

I'm working on a complex OOM with some other players that's going great with Cassian. Its such fun to play in the Star Wars' world. I want to write a recap OOM for Quentin and Ashes of Honor but keep stalling out on words.

In terms of fics, I have so many in the works, my google docs is full of works in progress, but I did recently finish a fic: Hit by the Heat where Cassian gets heatstroke. Its in an AU where everyone lived and Jyn and Cassian are a couple, features a cute pair of lesbian alien rebels.

Looking over all my works in progress. I recently started another Cassian gets hurt one, I like them taking care of each other. I'm also working on expanding a couple of AUs, I've got in the works. One where Jyn and Cassian have a daughter and they're all fighting the First Order, their daughter is leading the Resistance on Fest. One where Cassian's a Michelin inspector and Jyn's a spy, my Ice Dancing AU that's stuck in structural problems as I have too many ideas, and a weird one where Cassian's a bird shifter.
