Friday DE
It's time to get the prompts
It's time to write the lines
It's time to make the fic on the Fic Friday today!
Ahem....sorry about the bad filking there. Anyway, fic Friday! Post in with you pup's, get a prompt (whether from fellow muns, song titles, or random first line generators), and then write for whatever inspires!

Viv: Hearts, thorns, and scales
Ben: Put the gun down (alternately, 'high-fiving ghosts' after what I read about Justin Min's tweet about harassing extras into giving Ben sass)

"Sir, just put the gun down," he said gently as his tentacles slowly reach out for the weapon. Since the others weren't there, he got to make this call and he was going to figure out how to get this man out alive.

As Klaus turned heel to take a different alley (away from the impending mugging and likely stabbing if not murder) Ben high-fived the other ghost, a young boy who'd been hit by a car.

Jess: The sound of laughter drifted up from the street below, making him feel very alone in this new town
Ben: The footsteps were moving away

As he took his last breath, he realized he'd been hearing his heart the whole time.

Tybalt: The footsteps were moving away
Ben: The fire was getting closer

Ben called the other ghosts and together they screamed more, but Klaus just wasn't responding. The fire was near to his brother's taffeta skirt when a really old ghost scowled and swung at the pitcher of water above Klaus, knocking it over and waking the living man.
He got up and stumbled away, saved, while Ben stared at the old ghost and wondered how she'd done it. The ghost shrugged and so Ben just nodded thanks before following his brother out of the flophouse.

That's a lie. Surprise!
As the light fails, the dead become less ignorable, more present, as if shedding the veil that bright light provides.
So he stays where the lights can be bright constantly, and calls himself cosmopolitan.

"There will not be a full extraction?" Kay asked almost stated from where he sat in the cockpit.
"No, there won't be. I'll get them all the resources I can but we can't bring them with us," They should be able to, he'd put the plan together but Draven wouldn't give him the go ahead.
"If they accompany us then the percentage of any of us being caught or killed rises to an unacceptable level. I can provide the breakdown for you."
"No, no, I know you're right and he's right, just be nice to actually do a rescue sometime." Cassian couldn't remember the last time that he was able to know he'd truly saved someone, too often he had to leave informants behind. Many times they did end up safe but it was never simple.
"You could request a change of assignments though that would not be the best use of our skills," Kay offered up.
"No, let's finish this mission." Cassian said with a sigh.

Quentin: Sephora
Moist: A happy ending
Cassian: All in my mind
Demeter: Cream
Not for me
More glitter
Quentin yawned as he followed, "Just no getting glitter on Toby's jacket, she was really annoyed about that and it took ages to clean."
"All the glitter will be for us," May said as she ruffled Quentin's hair.
He sighed as Raj laughed and went to the eye shadows. Raj and Chelsea got into a discussion of colors and what worked with their eye shades.
A saleswoman with hair a deep purple came over and beamed at Jazz and May and smiled at Quentin, "I remember you and you've brought friends with great cheekbones. We have a few new colors that I think you'll enjoy."
Jazz laughed and tugged Quentin over, "Come on, this will be fun."

The work after war
"Feeding those who need to be fed."
The people with her froze in fear as Demeter stared down the soldier who met her eyes then backed away, "I see. Um, the general's coming through tomorrow."
"Thank you, we won't bother him." This soldier was polite but Demeter was sick of the sight of soldiers. The flashlight moved away and all those around her breathed once more.

A soft sound brings his head up.
"It's just me, sir." The voice is still more hoarse, more tired than he likes, but it still sets him at ease immediately.
"Lieutenant." Quiet but firm footfalls are honestly louder than they need to be - a concession to his blindness, but a minor one, one easy enough to ignore the necessity of. "Are you sure you should be up? The doctors..."
"Can find me just as well here as they can in the next room over. Budge over." He huffs a laugh at her order, but moves over obligingly. The bed dips under her weight, her body warm beside his.
And then a smaller, warmer weight is dumped into his lap.
"I could practically hear you brooding, even in the other room." Hawkeye explains, somewhere between amused and exasperated.
"Lieutenant, I..."
"Cuddle the damn puppy, sir. You've done enough, for now."
Something flares, bright and fierce in his chest. He could have sworn he knew the depth and breath of that fire that burned for Riza, but...
But after so long having to keep his regard smothered to sidelong looks and vague commentary, he really ought to have thought about the dangers of the backdraft coming.

That look had worked the first thirty times Jyou saw it. He's immune now.
"You know, some people go their entire lives without getting into any brawls, Ishida," he says. "I know, it surprised me as well when I heard."
"It wasn't my fault this time. They picked a fight with me."
"And I'm sure you did your very best to defuse the situation," Jyou replies dryly. "Come in. I'll get the ice and the suturing kit. Next time I'm ignoring you, though."
"You always say that."
