What is something your character wanted that they currently have? Do they still appreciate it?

Klaus wanted freedom from the Academy, and never wanted to talk to/see ghosts ever again ever. He got the first, but he'll never entirely have the second since that'd mean giving up Ben and that's not happening.

He's not sure how much he likes the outside world, it's a rough place, but it beats the Academy on every count.

Not at the canon point that I have her at yet, but Amascut eventually obtains a large cursed diamond that is heavily implied to be her father's heart (and her father is alive somehow???) and she is... disappointed? Comically so, in a "... that explains so much," way.

I think early in Bastion's life they wanted the war to end and, secretly, to not have to take orders from the omnium anymore. They're not entirely satisfied with how this turned out given that just about every other Bastion unit that wasn't killed in combat was put to death afterwards, but neither the human nor the omnic side completely wiped the other out so it could have been much worse, they suppose. They certainly wouldn't go back to the way it was before.

Later on they wanted to be able to interact with other sapient beings without freaking out and killing them, and they're pretty pleased at having achieved that goal.

Wilson wanted secret knowledge and he damn well got it. He's still got some weird shit rattling around in his head and I don't think even he knows how much he knows. But primarily what he wanted was ideas for scientific experiments that would have meaningful results and not blow up in his face, which he kind of got, though it's far removed from the field he's trained in. Were either of these worth leaving absolutely everything else in his life behind? Probably not!

Cirava wanted to live and not get used as a spaceship battery, which they did. Being friendless, disfigured, and mostly depowered is still better than being dead or forcibly wired into an engine. Or both, since they'd more likely get culled than shuffled into a low-end Fleet position (let alone returned to Alternia) if the technicians installing them discovered they'd been scammed into abducting a second-rate psionic who could barely get a ship into orbit even with all the amplifying equipment in a helmsblock. Sometimes they feel like they shouldn't have bothered, but that's less because they earnestly consider their current life to be a fate worse than death and more the depression talking.

Thurlow once wanted to be able to present whatever gender best pleased them without it interfering with the rest of their life, and they appreciated that pretty fervently when they first came to the Neath. They've had that for long enough that they're starting to take it for granted that they can be their true self down there.
