We've talked before about Crests from Digimon--Courage, Friendship, Love, Sincerity (or Purity), Knowledge, Reliability (or Honesty), Hope, Light. Over in the Digimon universe, the team leader is the one with the Courage crest with Friendship as Second, with Hope and Light as the Reserve Nukes, more or less.

(not ready to get into the ninth crest of kindness, okay, it's complicated)

But, over in the My Little Pony universe, wow would those get reordered and Friendship would be Team Leader (let's be real). (And also, come to think of it, arguably the Reserve Nuke.)

So! Today's question! Of Digimon crests, which would would be the team leader in your character's universe? Who would be the Reserve Nukes?

:/

(Well, at least he becomes leader eventually. For a little while.)

The Kingdom Hearts world basically runs off hope and love and all that stuff, so it would definitely be either Hope or Love as the leader, depending on how you personally classify Sora (not that one).

I'd lean towards Hope, if only because you can make a strong case for the Master of Masters, Mickey, and Xehanort also both fitting Hope, and it does fit with relentless optimist Sora (not that one) pretty well, which would make the leaders of basically every faction all Hope-y and stuff.

Light would still be the Reserve Nuke, because Kairi. And also Roxas. And Eden, to be quite honest.

Overwatch has too many characters and teams for my tired brain to answer right now so I'll just give the Don't Starve answer; Wickerbottom is unquestionably the leader and unquestionably the Crest of Knowledge. Wilson might qualify as the second-in-command and I think he'd be Honesty/Reliability.

I'm not quite as certain who would be the Reserve Nukes but perhaps Wagstaff (Knowledge again) and Wortox (uuuuuhhh Love??) based on them being powerful but hard for the team to access in a meta sense; the latter's for-pay DLC and the former isn't even implemented in multiplayer.

(Other DS character Crests off the top of my head: Wormwood is Friendship. Wigfrid is Courage; Wheeler probably is too. Webber is one of Hope, Love, or Sincerity/Purity but I struggle to nail down which.)

..........................................

So. My initial take on this, and fully open to debate because these kids are 1000% trash fires after their childhoods and no one made it out without some horrible coping methods...

I'm gonna say if Courage is the the main leadership trait, we're giving it to Five. Which is a horrible idea. Guys, this is so bad.

If Friendship is the main leadership trait, we're giving it to Ben. Which is a better idea.

I'm gonna say Hope and Light are going to go to Klaus and Vanya, the apocalypse twins.

Though if we're going to put the person in lead who actually has military experience it's going to Klaus and that's hilarious.

Honestly, the idea of Klaus in charge works for me...and picturing Luther and Diego's reactions just makes it better.

... That would be awesome, tbh. Klaus just siiiighs and starts organizing a defensive position, while Diego is increasingly horrified because Klaus wasn't lying in the vet bar, and Luther is increasing confused/enraged until Klaus has a come to Jesus meeting with him.

I may need to write this.

I like this! I can see Ben just grinning over Klaus's shoulder at Luther and Diego as they process.

Applying these to Marvel comics as a whole is beyond my current mental capacities, so I'm just going with the titles my ladies are involved in.

The Champions are lead by Ms. Marvel, and the team's focus is on social responsibility beyond punching the bad guys in the face, so I will say Hope is the leadership focus. Reserver nukes would be Courage and Friendship.

Looking to Jessica, Captain Marvel is the team leader so I will say she's likely Courage to Jess's Reliability.

October Daye is the leader and I'd say Courage* is her crest. I am on the fence is Tybalt woudl be Love or Friendship. ETA: Actually Tybalt could be Reliablility since his sense of duty is a huge part of himself.

I'll see if I can find my answers later. I need to start working.

[*Courage here meaning stuborning changing the world to fit your principles.]

Canon is taking the world of Gielinor through a late medieval/renaissance and early industrial age, so knowledge is enormously important. So is courage, because of how messed up (relatively) the world's attitudes are in regards to violence, war, and straight up murder, due to work by Amascut and other entities.

Probably courage would still lead, with knowledge second in command. Light is an interesting one, though. Basically the light and dark side of the Anima is flipped with the light and dark side of the Force, at least on the Emotive - Logical spectrum. It is definitely a reserve nuke thing since up to the current point, only major and elder gods have used it directly instead of indirectly though magic or enchanted artifacts/technology. Well practiced Force weilders/Anima manipulators would be a very big deal.

Sadly, I have to mention how canon's potential wielder of the crest of Purity/Sincerity was a freak unicorn centaur who was worked to death by resurrecting entire armies and trying to preserve her own species. So yeah, that is an extra special reserve nuke, but also a tragic sacrificial lamb that leaves behind tons of radioactive waste.

Hrn. Looking at who's actually been leaders in Overwatch you have Gabriel leading the original strike team, Jack who lead Overwatch the organization (supported by his second Ana and Gabriel shunted over to leading Blackwatch), and recall Overwatch who is apparently being led by Winston. On Talon's side it's been Akande for a while now.

Of the Crest options I suppose Gabriel is Courage. Jack is probably Friendship while Ana is Reliability. Winston is Hope. Akande is interesting because we're led to believe he's doing what he is to try and make humanity stronger through conflict, so possibly also Hope or Sincerity? Albeit a twisted version of it.

As for nukes, I'm not sure. Winston is the one actually getting the gang back together so it seems like Hope is pretty high up there. And then based on the universe itself, it seems like Knowledge would also be pretty important, but I might not be understanding the idea right.

In the Preacher universe, Jesse is Courage, because he has this cowboy mentality that drives him to be "one of the good guys," even if it means making terrible decisions that he thinks are for the best. Tulip is right beside him with Friendship. She is steadfastly loyal to both Jesse and Cassidy and would do anything to save or protect them. And Cassidy, being the heart of the trio, is Love. No matter what happens, deep down he loves Tulip and Jesse and would be lost if he didnt have them in his life.
