Thursday DE: Can you smell what the Rock is cooking?
Go here and enter your character's birthday.
Click "find your candle" at the top right. Tell us what scent you get and maybe any other details you get. Do you agree with the scents for your character or does the quote fit them?
(I totally get that some characters don't have canon birth dates or have a calendar different then ours. In such cases, just use the date you had to chose at journal creation.)
ETA: It seems the quotes I mention are only visible on desktops and not on mobile. So if mobile, feel free to just mention the scents. = ]

Scents: sage, jasmine, and palo santo
Quote: Those born September 22 poke their noses everywhere, excited to start new adventures even before the current one may be finished.
Totally her. I am not familiar with palo santo, but the other two scents seem a nice combo.
Sabine
Scents: mint, geranium, and cedarwood.
Quote: March 31 people are calm and steady individuals who keep firm control over their professional and personal environments.
Well, she certainly tries. I like the scent combo too.
Jessica Drew
Scents: jasmine, cedarwood, and thyme
Quote: Those born February 23 are the life of the part.
Hmm…not sure about that one. The scents seems nice.
Viv Vision
Scents: sage, frankincense, and oak moss.
Quote: January 8 people wait long periods before suddenly exploding into achievement and activity.
Not sure about the quote, but I can see it. Scents seem a nice mix, though I’d worry about it being too strong.
Ben Hargreeves
Scents: hygrangea, peony, and jasmine
Quote: Those born on October 1 take their places as leader and as visionaries.
Nope, not for Ben. The scents seem one hell of a heady mix.
Sucy Manbavaran
Scents: sage, frankincense, and oakmoss
Quote: Those born on December 31 synthesize and connect.
Not Sucy at all. :D
Tybalt
Scents: sage, frankincense, and oakmoss (What is this, the Capricorn mix?)
Quote: Those born January 1 tend to be drawn to thresholds.
Eeee…iffy.
Dog
Scents: mint, geranium, and cedar wood.
Quote: The children of April 1 are nobody’s fools.
Works for me but could be deeper.

Well.
I have no faith in Reggie's ability to 'live and let live'.

And I am highly amused we have mirroring icons.

a) Ben and Klaus spend an inordinately insane amount of time around each other, so have picked up more than a few of each other's mannerisms.
b) At some point Pogo taught the kids to raise their hands when they want to ask a question, because seven hyperactive shouting kids is too much for one old ape, and it's mutated over the years to be a Hargreeves child gesture to mean 'I have a point I intend on making here no matter how long you keep on talking so you do you but I get the floor next'.

Wilson:
An enlivening scent, with a floral base of rose + narcissus that gives way to a stirring blend of neroli, tea tree, and water lily. Perfect for the energetic, ambitious, freedom-loving optimists born on November 26.
Uh... it's maybe about half right? I don't think Wilson likes the smell of flowers very much, nor astrology-adjacent things for that matter.
Bastion:
An enchanting fragrance — a foundation of ylang ylang and magnolia creating a base, with a middle note of white rose, and chamomile + lemon scent wafting from the top. A calming, spirit-building scent for the receptive, sensitive, imaginative souls born on July 15.
This at least sounds like something they would enjoy, even though I don't know what half those things smell like. It's not wrong but I would stop short of calling it spookily accurate.
Thurlow:
Warm bottom notes of rosemary and musk, soothing middle notes of chamomiile and shea, and a captivating fruity top note of grapefruit and lemon leaves. An enchanting and calming fragrance perfect for the self-assured, entertaining, powerful souls born on August 5.
Not too bad! Not the qualities I personally would highlight but qualities that they do have fairly prominently.
Cirava:
This lively, many-sided scent is perfect for the energetic, dynamic souls born on May 31. An underlying warm and woodsy sandalwood sets the stage for a middle note of water orchid, and a top notes emerge of lemon and sun-soaked amber.
Not really that accurate but not all the way into comically inaccurate.
Aradia:
A thrilling scent to stir the spirits of the energetic, passionate, and dynamic souls born on March 28. Bottom notes of cedarwood, myrrh, and rosemary give way to a crisp middle note of mint and a top note of geranium flower.
This is reasonably accurate mainly because it's exactly like the stereotype of an Aries, on which her character is partially based.

Wilson: The Day of Apples and Oranges. "Those born on November 26 unite opposites, confounding the idea of categorization."
...Maybe a little? I wouldn't say it's his defining trait.
Bastion: The Day of Coaxed Reality. "Those born on July 15 can shape the world around them, bending it gently to their will."
That's Symmetra. You just described Symmetra.
Thurlow: The Day of the Unflappables. "It is difficult to deter the children of August 5th from their goals."
Well, you got that right.
Cirava: The Day of Tender Rebellion. "Intimidatingly cool, the children of May 31 exude toughness."
You're half right. They are very cool.
Aradia: The Day of the Innocent Recluse. "March 28 people often find themselves at the center of attention even though they might prefer to be alone."
Generally when Aradia goes off alone without the intent of meeting anyone there, it's because she wants to do something no one else likes. She's not much of a recluse otherwise.

Me: "Energizing floral top notes of jasmine and water lily mix naturally with middle notes of hydrangea and peony, all laying on top of a sultry neroli" Hmm could be a little cloying but it says something about "charming, elegant, and artistic souls" so you know my ego's stoked.
"The Day of the Fateful Gate: The children of October 13th often stand between many different ways of life."
... not wrong.
Eriond: "An enlivening scent, with a floral base of rose + narcissus that gives way to a stirring blend of neroli, tea tree, and water lily." and nooooo this is just. Nope. Eriond's all about grass and sky and a bit of horse and warm bread in the oven, maybe a little winter spice. This is much too high-brow and floraly for him.
"The Day of the Sacrosanct: The children of December 21st seem to understand that some of life's mysteries may never be solved"
Yeah that's on point.
Lois: "Warm bottom notes of rosemary and musk, soothing middle notes of chamomiile and shea, and a captivating fruity top note of grapefruit and lemon leaves. An enchanting and calming fragrance perfect for the self-assured, entertaining, powerful souls" born on her day and eh, it's okay I guess, and the misspelling is in character for her, as is the description of type of person. It'll do.
"The Day of Blasting Off: No obstacle can withstand the forcefulness August 17 people."
God help me, yeah, that's accurate.
Evelyn: "An enchanting fragrance — a foundation of ylang ylang and magnolia creating a base, with a middle note of white rose, and chamomile + lemon scent wafting from the top. A calming, spirit-building scent for the receptive, sensitive, imaginative souls" Yeah that actually does work, she needs some calming.
"The Day of Careful Advance: June 27th birthdays tend to armor themselves, in keeping with their sign, the Crab--but they are as skilled at offense as they are at defense."
Yep, still on point.
R2-D2: I can almost guarantee you nothing will fit, but let's see. "A multilayered fragrance with woodsy and floral notes — a base of mahogany and musk and a top note of bergamot and plum, with a touch of cinnamon. Complexity is necessary for the imaginative, passionate, intense souls born" for the date his journal was made.
"The Day of Firm Earth: A world could be founded on the reliability and might of the children of October 25th."
"A sacred woodsy mysticism centers this fragrance — with bottom notes of frankincense, myrrh, and eucalyptus. Middle notes of oakmoss and a top scent of sage bring a feel of relaxing escape to the determined, strategic, patient souls" for the random day I picked for his birthday when I made the journal (Jan 1).
"The Day of the Unlocked Door: Those born on January 1 tend to be drawn to thresholds."
Okay the quote for the first works better but the fragrance of the second works better. Still.
Anakin: Based on day I made journal: "A truly special, ethereal scent with mystical bottom notes of smoked clove and washed oud, middle notes of jasmine, palo santo, and lavender, and a top note of sage. This fragrance will transport the practical, industrious, perfectionist souls born" Eh not bad. Sure. Why not. I imagine the flowers are actually Padme. ... It is not remotely appropriate for Vader, of course, but then no candle is, just metal and lava and burning.
"The Day of Holding Hands: The children of August 26th give freely of themselves." ... Eeeeeeh. Maybe. Until there was nothing left...
Desiderius: He's born in late fall, close to onset of an early winter, so I arbitrarily picked a day: "A multilayered fragrance with woodsy and floral notes — a base of mahogany and musk and a top note of bergamot and plum, with a touch of cinnamon. Complexity is necessary for the imaginative, passionate, intense souls born" Yeah that's fine, actually! Fits him pretty well. Especially as he grows up into a very serious, kind, and dedicated man. Eventually.
"The Day of Deep Evaluation: October 31 people bring prodigious energy and discernment to their work and their leisure."
Accurate for Derius! Although possibly the October 25th one that R2 had is even more on-point, and it's the same scent.
Tavi: I think I arbitrarily decided he was born on August 1st because it made me laugh. This actually results in the same candle as Lois, and while some parts of the quote suit him I don't think the fragrance itself does. Dunno what would.
"The Day of the Trend Definer: The children of August 1 are so forceful and pronounced in their ideas and tastes that they can reorder their social worlds."
......... I mean, "social" is not the relevant world he reorders... but not wholly inaccurate.
I think that's all my set.

Uhh... why did. Was i feeling okay that year jeez.
Anyhow Amascut gets "The Day of Stong Sprouts - A sacred woodsy mysticism centers this fragrance — with bottom notes of frankincense, myrrh, and eucalyptus. Middle notes of oakmoss and a top scent of sage bring a feel of relaxing escape to the determined, strategic, patient souls."
Well, that is pretty fitting, given that sage and frankincense are used in religious ceremony and how close myrrh is associated with embalming. Could remind her of the time when she had an actual religious following instead of just little cults here and there of people who just want an excuse to murder. Oakmoss is the odd scent out, though.
She certainly thinks she is determined, strategic, and patient.

My own birthday gives me "Energetic, ambitious, and freedom-loving." While I love me some freedoms, I am the opposite of everything else. I am sleepy and I avoid responsibility. Take that astrology!
