For those with canons that still update, how do you celebrate new canon?

For those with closed canons, are there any new stories you'd particularly like to see (and, optionally, how would you celebrate)?

I have now watched the trailer for new Yamato canon so many times that it has seeped deep, deep into my brain.

I don't tend to do anything special to celebrate new canon, I just load it up and watch it (or play it) and then ramble incessantly about it. While I am getting new canon for Yamato, it doesn't seem like it'll be covering what I'd like to see, which is a continuation from the sequel hooks in Tri, where Gennai escapes and makes it clear that he's got at least two more evil plots up his sleeve.

New canon? Wait for spoilers, read them all, don't even stress myself with a play-through.

I am lazy and I like sleeping.

New canon, likely watch trailers over and over, maybe dress in some subtle way to reflect the new thing I am excited for, try my best to not get too excited since I seem to have a curse (especially with comics) that ends up with the thing canceled just as it's getting good.

Closed canons...
Well, I was so looking forward to where they were going to go next with Iron Fist with hopes they'd end up following the Fraction run of the comic and show more of the IF mythos. I'm on the fence about if I'll run with Danny doing that or not. It'd be a lot of work, and I'd have to push him through canon first, but there is so much fun potential.

I'd love more Dog, either short stories or a new book. Leaning more towards a short story as then she could be the protagonist.

For Sabine and Ahsoka, I'd love a comic series of them kicking ass after the fall of the Empire out in the Outer Rim, getting food and medical supplies to refugees, breaking up warlords, more Force mysticism, etc. To hell with finding Ezra.

With open canon I generally just squee internally until I can experience it.

As for closed canons it depends whether there was closure or not. If there is, then I'm fairly good at letting it rest and if I still want to play from it, seeing what I can do with what canon's given me.

I will say this: if your closed canon suddenly gets an update, be very, very careful. It can bite you in the ass. Almost like I speak from experience.

By reading the new book or seeing the new canon as soon as I can. I've been doing the new Toby Daye ones on a slight delay since I have to wait for the library but get them as soon as I can. Then when I get them, I tend to read her books in one or two gulps. That's also why I started Quentin a few books back so there's a delay built in.

With the Old Kingdom canon, I was able to snag some ARCs when I went to library conventions which was nice. Star Wars, there's so much canon that I tend to focus on the books and movies though I do love the TV when I've seen it. When I have the money for Disney+, I'm going to get it and rewatch stuff. Thankfully Rogue One keeps showing on a cable channel, which means mini rewatches.

I don't really do anything specific to celebrate, I just cram it into my eyeballs as fast as possible, generally. (Unless the creators have disappointed me too many times with new content.)
