Wednesday DE: Kith and Kind

For the last of this string of World of Darkness related DEs (because none of the other book lines really have a personality focus in their subcategories), let's talk about Changeling kiths in Changeling: The Dreaming, of which there are nine.

They are Boggans, workers and busybodies; Eshus, travellers, adventurers, and storytellers; Nocker, engineers and inventors; Pooka, tricksters and shapechangers; Redcaps, murderers and cannibals; Satyr, lovers and revellers; Sidhe, the nobility; Sluagh, secret-keepers; and Trolls, honour-bound warriors.

Which kith would your character belong to and why?

These ones are pretty easy.

Tess is a Sluagh because she knows everyone secrets and she keeps them, unless it's best if they become public knowledge.

Kylo is a Troll, though he's not fond of the name. He is bound to the Force and will fight for what he thinks is right.

Creed is a Redcap all the way. He's an assassin by trade and well, cannibalism might not be the stretch most people think it is.

Jessica...honestly I'm torn between a pooka with a spider affinity or a sluagh that knows how to be friendly.

Ahsoka...I'm going with Eshu. She has traveled a lot and kept her eyes open to learning, and continues to travel in her future, looking for stories; i.e. Empire or Sith secrets.

Sabine is a nocker specializing in alchemy. She is the tech/mechanical person as well as the explosive expert.

Tybalt could Sidhe, what with him being the King of Cats and all, but I can also see him being a titled Satyr. Truly, however, he is his own kith, the cait sidhe.

Ben would like to be a boggan but is pushed to being a redcap by Hargreeves and a curse.

Viv is an elemental manikin.

... I.. so. Question, because IDK - do they have to be all parts of a category? Because Cecil fits the 'storyteller' part of Eshus, but he is not a traveler or adventurer. At least he doesn't do those things intentionally.

As an old player of Changeling, I would say Cecil could totally be an Eshu. Half of why the travel is to collect new stories and to share stories, so broadcasting on the airwaves is a modern take on the classic, imho.

Yay for Changeling! Its thanks to the Changeling game I ran in college that I met Danii who introduced me to Milliways.

Quentin is very much a Sidhe.

Cassian is interesting because in some ways he's very much a Sluagh with all the secrets he keeps but I feel like Pooka might fit better with their lies and shapeshifting.

Charles mm, I think he's a Sidhe.

Sameth is a Nocker.

Moist von Lipwig is a Pooka.

Demeter's probably a Boggan.

William Evans is a Troll.

Will Scarlett is a Pooka.

Tumnus is a Faun so a Satyr though Fauns and Satyrs don't completely match up.

Ivan's a Troll.
