Wednesday DE: Yeah, well, your face has nice hair

We did 'how does your character react to criticism' a while back, so here's the opposite of that: How does your character react to praise?

Generally, with befuddlement. It surprises them to hear that other people see good qualities in them.

Cecil is the most well adjusted of the boys - praise for most things doesn't throw him, and he likes it! ...Praise from Carlos (or his sister) puts him in complete disarray.

Jonathan is fairly dismissive of praise, as he tends to think it is superficial. Someone being genuine (and convincing him of that) tends to fluster him (which is adorable).

Klaus is a disaster. He'll act like he is fine with it, but he does not believe a word, and will get all shades of viciously snarky if pressed.

Garyn doesn't accept praise easily. His adoptive father/drillmaster growing up was of the general opinion that "good job" is the worst thing you can say to one of your charges. After all, there's always room for improvement. He's internalized this to such an extent that he's basically never pleased with himself.

Cassie, on the other hand, was praised and doted on quite a bit by her father. It's her mother she has to hustle to please. She's considerably healthier about accepting praise than Garyn is, though.
