Substitute DE
Your character can have one of these seven easy-to-care-for, durable creatures as a pet: a Kittykit (a combination of a cat and a raccoon), a Vargling (a tiny, friendly hellhound-like dog-monster), an Ewecus (kind of like a fluffy lamb, but with more boogers), a Broodling (a tiny insectoid dragon), a Glomglom (a big round fluffy bug), a Giblet (a little turkey thing), or a Mothling (a moth that glows in the dark). Only one, though. Which one suits them?
Alternately, if none of those inspire you: What kind of pets does your character like?

Creed would take a kittykit. He likes cats and he can relate to raccoons.
Kylo might have a droid commissioned based on a mothling.

Sabine would go with the vargling.
Jess, as much as the broodling is tempting, would go with the kittykit. Trash kitty for the win.
Tybalt, oddly, would go with the mothling.
Viv would go with a mothing as well I think.
Ben...well, do dead people get a choice? Let's go with an ewecus since there's no flying squid or octopus.
Dog would take a vargling.
New pup soon to be apped, Alustin Haber would choose a broodling. The mothling is tempting as it'd be useful, but sometimes you need dark.

In no way just to tease the nine-foot giant wolfman mentor/friend/trusted enemy??? of his named Varg.
Look it's not quite the same as having a tavar for a pet but it might do well enough to scare the Canim even more.

Eden, meanwhile, would take a Kittykit.

So badly.
Klaus... probably would pick a Mothling because hey, glow in the dark, that's good. But he could probably use a Kittykit because dude, you need something to hug. Like, for reals.
Jonathan would probably end up with a Kittykit because he also really needs something to hug, and it has the benefit of being somewhat canonical? Definitely not getting any of the insect options. Hell to the no. Absolutely not. Do not actually care how 'cute' it might be.

And yeah no it's not an actual hellhound, that was just the closest comparison I could think of since most recognisable canine monsters are based on wolves instead and Hounds/Vargs are definitely derived from dogs.

Hellhounds (or, rather, singular hell hound) is also a thing in Cecil's canon, even though it is awfully cute. Just... Awful.

Khadgar would probably go for the Ewecus. Sheep are kinda a theme for mages.

The Vargling is still pretty edgy though. For a pet.
